Spent my tax return!! I think I'm ready..

Well I have been lurking around here for the last couple months. I have spent a lot of time after work scribbling notes, and searching for the most popular products. Let me just say it was tough at the beginning with all the abbreviations, until I found the decoder ring.:woohoo:

I just want to thank Autpia for its very informative sight, and all the members for their input! I finally placed orders from 9 different places, and most of my stuff has showed up. Needless to say I think I am ready too buff and burn thru some paint… :grinno: Now I don’t know how to use half this stuff, but thanks to this sight I’m sure I will figure it out. So without further ado here are my purchases from the last 2 weeks. I have a few more things coming, but this is the bulk of it. :woot2: ;)

The bulk of the pads are actually 6.5 in. with (3) 7.5's for the rotary. I tried one out today on the flex, and it worked really well.

Still to come..

PC 7424

5 white pads

5 blue pads

1 set of carpet brushes for the PC

10 bonnets

2 dura wool pads

GR-40

spur

various spray bottles

Einszett plastic+vinyl

Einszett Cockpit Premium

Adams VRT

Adams Undercarriage

I think thats about it!!

Looks like you're in pretty great shape, those products should last the next 10 years or so :).With black like that, you *might* want to pick up a 1000ish grit heavy compound. That looks like it'll take 2-4 passes of purple wool and SIP, but Meg's 105 or 3M Extra Cut could really cut the amount of work down.

That, or if you have a compressor, a finish sanding system. A Mirka would be *money* on black like that.

Edit: I looked at it again. Definitely get a Mirka if you can spare the coin. Last time I came up against a car like the before I ended up wet sanding the whole thing with high-grit paper. Took 14 hours, but it was worth it.

That is the only thing that I have not purchaced yet.. I need to get a heavy compound. Plus this is a Single Stage paint so I wasnt sure what compound to get for this truck..

I was thinking of the M105..:nixweiss

PM sent!!:xyxthumbs

Looks like you should be having fun... I cant wait to place a big order like that again.

It sucks so bad having two expensive hobbies. Detailing and rebuilding my civic/boosting it....

Wow.. thats allot. I'm really torn on going with Zano. I have a white car to do. I cant justify going for this far out when white always seems to leave a little lacking. Now if my BMW wagon was read... I think that would be a treat.

I'll try and post my own thread with my contenders instead of hijacking this one. I thought I had a lot of stuff, your pushing three times my list.

Impressive :)

That's a *very* impressive set up for a beginner. Good, quality choices. But dang, that musta been a large tax return to fund what looks like a good $800+ in products. Good luck with them!
