Ditto that. One of the two businesses I run here is an English instruction/translation/editing service, and though I might occasionally say "that ain't right" or the like in the company of friends, there's no excuse for that kind of "error" (especially written for the world to see on a sign), unless English is not your native language.

On the "Support Are Troups", maybe they ran out of O's and U's and found it acceptable this way. Maybe...
 
and you spell color "colour" as well?



english language is weird. that's why foreigners have such a hard time learning how to speak it with proper grammar.

You should see how we spell, Jail = Gaol, Center = Centre, Meter = Metre. Need I go on? :)

I'm married to a professional copywriter / proofreader. You wouldn't belive the things she catches on signs that are incorrect. Fortunately, she doesn't correct me too much. I can read a newspaper article (our local paper is horrible) and if I find 3 things, she finds 10.



I did manage to catch something last year that she didn't. Her company ran an ad in the Indy 500 program that she wrote the copy for. I kept looking at it thinking something just didn't look right. Well, they had flipped the photo so the cars were going around the Speedway the wrong direction! Designer had done it becasue the copy fit better that way. Wonder how many others noticed it. They fixed it this year.
