Hi, I tried searching but couldnt come up with any thing relevant.



I was wondering what speeds to use with my PC7424 with the following combos.



Megs #9 with Orange cutting pad.

SSR2.5 with Orange Cutting pad.

Klasse AIO with white polishing pad

S100 with black finishing pad.



also, how many passes should i make? I know to go side to side, overlaping by half of a pad each time.

For any defect removal with the PC you have to run it at 5 or 6. For an LSP I like to run it at 2 or 3.

My speeds:



Polish - Mostly speed 5 with a very occasional 6

Paint Cleaning - Speed 5 and 6

Glazes and LSP's - Speed 4 to 4.5

Megs #9 with Orange cutting pad.

I find it much easier on my nerves if I use a less abrasive pad with more abrasive polishes. Meaning let the polish do the work, not the pad. #9 is a last step polish/swirl remover, not a leveler.

Like MichaelM, I'd match product to pad differently from the #9/Orange. Even with the orange, #9 will still only have minimal cut, and the pad will possibly leave micromarring. #9 is one of those "so mild" products that should only be used with mild polishing pads and after all the major work has already been done. I don't use SSR 2.5 so I don't know if the #9 will be a good follow-up or not.



I do all my abrasive polishing at 5 or 6. I use something around 4-4.5 for AIO and 4 for waxes.
