Specific Detailing Spray?

Reading around the internet, some mention that paint that has Klasse AIO applied to it must be quick detailed with acrylic-specific detail spray. Is this true? What happens if you have a carnuba wax on top?

The issue really has to do with additional layers of sealant. I tend to put another layer of Klasse SG or 4* UPP on my car every month. So, I don't want to use detail sprays that might leave a residue that interferes with later bonding. But, I think a lot of different kinds of detail sprays could work fine on AIO or SG, as long as you don't intend to add additional layers.

What I wanted to really know was, if I had, lets say, AIO and then Souveran on top of that, would I use an acrylic detail spray such as Sonus Acryclic Glanz which is tailored to the AIO, or Pinnacle Crystal Mist Quick Detailer, which is tailored to the Souveran.

I agree with JBM. Match your detailing spray to your LSP (the last product you put on your car). So, if your last layer is a carnuba wax, it make sense to use a detailing spray that enhances carnuba finishes.

Now, you say that the detailing spray should match your LSP...should your many polishes match AIO too?

What do you mean?

Klasse doesn't make another polish besides AIO, so a more abrasive polish would have to be from another brand.

From my experience, QDs usually aren't too particular with what you put them on, some might have a slightly better appearance, etc. Another thing to think about is that some sealants won't bond to a surface with any carnauba on it, so you would want to avoid a carnauba QD in that instance.

To reiterate-

a) Last step Product (Carnauba wax) detail spray ( one that contains Carnauba wax)

b) LSP Klasse (acrylic resin) detail spray (Sonus Acryclic Glanz)

Klasse AIO is a multi-funtion product-

c) Klasse AIO (chemical cleaner /polish) mostly used to clean surface

d) Can be used as a mild polish

e) Or used as a base for the vehicle protection (sealant / wax)

1.Wash

2.Clay

3.Polish (Iz, PB, 3M, etc)

4.Chemical clean (Klasse AIO)

5.(LSP) polymer sealant or Carnauba wax

6.Detail spray (QD) as in a / b above

If AIO is used after a polish, it doesnt matter what the polish is, AIO will clean it up.

AIO is a great base for a sealant or a caranuba.

By detail spray, you do not mean Quick Detail Spray, right?

The instructions say that Sonus Glanz is not supposed to be a quick detailer. The Sonus QD is Acrylic Spritz.

Is the idea to use the Sonus Glanz as a topper to AIO?

I've only used Sonus Glanz as a booster over AIO+KSG after a good washing. I like it very much for that, and I suspect that is what TOGWT was suggesting.

But it is not a quick detailer.

Is there a distinction between a detail spray and a quick detail spray?

What I ment by "many polishes" were the products that detailers use before products such as AIO are applied to a paint finish to set-up a good foundation for a good wax. Those prior steps to the application of AIO would include removing swirls, oxidation, etc...for this, polishes of varying abrasiveness are used. JBM answered this question prior to this posting, but I just want to clarify what I was trying to say.
