Souveran

Why do some buy the Souveran paste wax for $70 when u can get the liquid Souveran for $30. Is there a difference in results? Isnt the liquid easier to apply anyway???

IIRC- I believe that there is a higher carnauba concentration in the paste. The process of making a liquid from a paste requires the addition of petroleums and distillates which ultimately dilutes the carnauba percentage. I'm sure others will weigh in, but this has been my understanding.

Hope this helps

The paste looks marginally better, and I find that I get significantly more applications out of a can of paste than a bottle of liquid - I might use .5 or 1oz of liquid to do a car, but I generally use less than .2oz of paste.

Hmm!

**LIQUID PS IS NOT A LIQUID VERSION OF PS PASTE WAX! **

They look totally different! Liquid version has a bit of sealant look to it. Its not as deep, not as wet, but is more reflective. Totally different dynamics, they just share the same name.

Its like buying a FWD Audi with manual gear box, its not the same as buying a "proper" Audi with Quattro and DSG transmission. Yeah same A3, A4 etc, Totally different experince and results, really different products.

Personally, if i was you i would get the paste its looks the deepest and wetest. It glides on and looks great. I would then maintain it with Souveran spray wax during harsher climates. Alternativily, coat a layer or two of Souveran with Optiseal for same great PS looks, but 3 months of durability.

Souveran spray wax beads for around 3 weeks super tight, looks great. It is what Z8 is to sealants!

With regard P21's and Liquid PS. Um, P21s looks better, protection will last about 4 or 5 weeks though look seem to be tainted after about 3 weeks.

If you want to spend less and get great looks check out Signature Series II from Pinnicle or even better (as it costs less) Detailers Pride Max Wax.

Personally i would just do the PS paste wax and spray wax combo.

The Signature Series looks good and is definately reasonable in price. Have any of you seen the differences between Signature and Souveran???

Also, would the Signature go well over some Klasse AIO??

The nuba content is not all that all high, hence the fact they do not state it.

With regard KAIO, sure it will go fine over KAIO, but why would you want to when there are so many other things it looks even better over!

What colour paintwork do you have?

The color is black. What did you have in mind instead of the KAIO?

KAIO is an old product thats been knocking about for yrs. Sure it does a decent job a sealing the surface of the paint after its cleaned it up. In honesty, its rather bland and you there are few more one steps you can apply before your Nuba that i believe will give you a better look.

If you are going to use a product like PS why now lay down a some Clearkote Red Machine glaze or a 50/50 mix with Vanilla moose. You could even lay down Yellow cream wax after that (so easy to use!).

That way you can get a nice deep wet finish before you apply the wax :xyxthumbs

Even Pinnicles own Cleansing lotion leaves a nice finish.

I have both Souveran and Lusso Oro. The latter looks just as good, lasts longer and is quite a bit cheaper.

I would call Souveran a "delivery" wax. It has limited durability but provides a nice greasy appearance that a lot of customers like. I have it on one of my cars now with some Z-5 underneath. It seems te Z-5 is the only thing left on the car after a rain. Don't get me wrong, its a nice look, but I see no durability to speak of. I also get water spots with souveran much worse than just Z-5 alone.

I would put CG 50/50 against Souvern and its 30 bucks cheaper but that is my opinion

I feel on solid colours there is a distinct difference.

But i would be spend my money on either Nattys Red or Max Wax with good Clearkote glaze (depending on what colour/paint type your car has, they have all the bases covered!).
