I did a search and nothing showed up that i wanted. What i am wondering.. is the difference between Souveran and carnuaba wax. I have always used Carnuaba and had excellent results. But i am curious what the difference is. Thanks in advance.

Pinnacle Souveran is a premium grade carnauba wax.

It is not a polymer as Zaino or blackfire is.

Exactly. Souveran is a carnauba wax. Because of the quality of carnauba and the % of carnauba in the wax, it will give a superior shine to most off the shelf waxes. Pretty fine stuff. :up

Ok, now it makes some sense. I was looking to buy some pinnacle but i didnt know if i would like the results of Souveran.

I've never heard of anyone being disappointed with the results of Souveran. Its really top knotch stuff. Another carnauba that is on the same scale as Souveran (at more than half the price) is P21S carnauba wax. That is also really good stuff and at a lower cost. There are subtle differences between the two, but it would probably take a machine to be able to tell the difference. Do some searches on the two and you'll see what I'm talking about. :xyxthumbs

Just to play devils advocate, everyone here loves P21S, S100, and Souveran, but I'd say if you want to spend that much for a wax, you might as well give Zymol Carbon a try. [flame suit on!]

How much is Carbon? If its more than $25 bucks that it can't compete price wise. I've got my hands on some Zymol Vintage and I can't say that I feel that its worth more than Souveran or P21S. Testing is continuing on it. I'm still pretty impressed with my P21S.

souveran is considered a premium carnuba wax. Its easy to work with and yields a superior "carnuba like" shine. If durability is not an issue, i recommend that you try it out.

Souveran contains a refined carnuba wax....its in the product in a limited % though. On average the more carnuba in a product the harder it is to work with and the more solvents needed to keep it workable. Carnuba content % has little or no correlation with durability though....so don't be fooled...each product is different.

Also, carnuba content or quantity has little to do with shine. The shine is from additives and oils in the formulation....

Hope this helps.....

Carbon is about $35 bucks, it's 37% Brazilian Carnuaba wax.

If it's streaky you're usings too much. I have had my container for over two years and I have waxed over 30 times and I haven't used half of it yet.

You need to apply a super thin film (you most likely won't see it on light colored cars) in a side to side motion and then right after you have applied it, take a super soft towel and make one big swipe in the opposite direction over the wax. So if you are applying from the side of the panel to the side of the panel, swipe from the top of the panel to the mottom of the panel. This will help the wax spread uniformly over the paint, and it will help it crystalize. Then wait 45 seconds and buff off in a side to side motion.

The feel and shine it leaves is amazing, but of course for the first time you use it, you should HD-Cleanse before, so that's another $30 bucks.

I'll agree that the wax is somewhat hard to apply at first, I'm just finally mastering it now. The thing I like best about it, and numerous people have commented on when riding in my car when it rains is that none of the water sticks to the car. It all just slides off like it was never there.

I did a little comparison test on my hood between 3M Show Car Paste Wax and Zymol Carbon, by putting the 3M wax on the drivers side and the Zymol wax on the passenger side. After about two months they feel the same, and this has been through three snow storms. The thing I like best about the Zymol is the way it dissipates the water - it's quite amazing. It just rained a few days ago, if I drive for a minute the Zymol side of the hood lets the water bead right off and then the hood is dry on that side, whereas the 3M side still has big water beads on it that take about 5 minutes to really start disappearing.

Next time it rains I'll pull the car in my garage and take a picture so everyone can see.

Below are two pictures my cars with Zymol Carbon on them: Great reflection under low light, and shines really well in direct light.

Worked super well on my previous GTI, which was silver. Only difference between Carbon and Creme (lighter colored cars) is that there is less carnuaba, only 33%.

OK, I'm done now. I have defended my spending $40 on a wax. :D
