Carbon is about $35 bucks, it's 37% Brazilian Carnuaba wax.
If it's streaky you're usings too much. I have had my container for over two years and I have waxed over 30 times and I haven't used half of it yet.
You need to apply a super thin film (you most likely won't see it on light colored cars) in a side to side motion and then right after you have applied it, take a super soft towel and make one big swipe in the opposite direction over the wax. So if you are applying from the side of the panel to the side of the panel, swipe from the top of the panel to the mottom of the panel. This will help the wax spread uniformly over the paint, and it will help it crystalize. Then wait 45 seconds and buff off in a side to side motion.
The feel and shine it leaves is amazing, but of course for the first time you use it, you should HD-Cleanse before, so that's another $30 bucks.
I'll agree that the wax is somewhat hard to apply at first, I'm just finally mastering it now. The thing I like best about it, and numerous people have commented on when riding in my car when it rains is that none of the water sticks to the car. It all just slides off like it was never there.
I did a little comparison test on my hood between 3M Show Car Paste Wax and Zymol Carbon, by putting the 3M wax on the drivers side and the Zymol wax on the passenger side. After about two months they feel the same, and this has been through three snow storms. The thing I like best about the Zymol is the way it dissipates the water - it's quite amazing. It just rained a few days ago, if I drive for a minute the Zymol side of the hood lets the water bead right off and then the hood is dry on that side, whereas the 3M side still has big water beads on it that take about 5 minutes to really start disappearing.
Next time it rains I'll pull the car in my garage and take a picture so everyone can see.
Below are two pictures my cars with Zymol Carbon on them: Great reflection under low light, and shines really well in direct light.
Worked super well on my previous GTI, which was silver. Only difference between Carbon and Creme (lighter colored cars) is that there is less carnuaba, only 33%.
OK, I'm done now. I have defended my spending $40 on a wax.
