Souveran spray wax

I have used Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax off and on in the past and liked it but for money the durability didn't seem to be any better than DG Aqua Wax. I noticed that the Souveran spray wax has been "reformulated" with the addition of sealants. I don't know how long the "New" formula has been out but has anyone had any experience with it? The old formula was almost half again the price of Optimum Spray Wax but it wasn't as finicky to use and didn't streak. If they can get it close to the same level of durability as Optimum I may give it a try again?
 
Thanks for pointing out the review. As far as increased durability, when I read "advanced crystalline polymers" I mistook that to mean the addition of sealants. After I read the review it doesn't sound like it? That must mean more shine...heck, I don't know!

After using both formula I must say the new formula excels in every way except the scent. I miss the butterscotch scent, but the new one is pretty refreshing.

I found the shine to be a lot for intense with the new formula and much easier to spread and wipe. Overall if you liked the old stuff you will love the new souveran spray wax.
 
While I cannot comment on durability the new version of the Pinnacle Spray Wax is very easy to use and did not have streaking issues on black paint. The shine it produces is sensational and certainly is an easy recommendation.
Optimum Spray Wax is certainly unique among the spray wax category and I doubt that there is another that can replicate the durability factor. I think Dr. G has definitely formulated a wax in a spray version that has greater durability than some paste waxes.
It is also said to contain ingredients that are used in the formulation of clear coat. With extended use will actually increase the life span of the clear it is being applied to. Apparently this is only possible to achieve in a liquid state.
Certainly a nice perk of being able to purchase paint protection products from a chemist that formulated clear coat himself.
 
I really like the old formula. Best looking spray wax. I am hesitant on the new version. Glad I have about half gallon of the old stuff.

When I opened an order I received from AG yesterday they included a couple of free items and one happened to be a bottle of the old formula Sovereign Spray Wax :)

In your best guess, how do you think the Souveran will stack up against the Optimum? From using both a little bit I know there issues with the Optimum streaking where as the Souveran doesn't but then again the Souveran is almost 1 1/2 times the cost of Optimum. If everything were to be equal the ease of use of the Souveran would be worth it to me!
 
I've used the old formula and I know this is silly, but the smell is awesome. Always makes me hungry for cookies. I don't think it has much durability but it gives an immediate deep shine. The expensive price is the drawback for me.

To be honest, if you are looking for an excellent value, then Souveran or the Pinnacle line isn't really designed to meet those needs. Pinnacle, to my knowledge, is the only "Certified Made in The USA" product line there is (this means that everything from the chemicals, to the bottles, to the o-rings on the bottles, to the boxes, to the packaging) is made in the USA, which adds to the cost.

Head-to-head I would say Souveran Spray Wax lasts nearly as long (with in 10%) but it creates that signature Souveran look that other sprays cannot replicate. On a daily driver where durability and protection are paramount, go with Optimum. On any car where a deep wet shine is enjoyed (while still having great durability) go with Souveran. No wrong choice, just finding the right choice for you ;)

To answer your question about Souveran streaking, I haven't noticed any.

I cannot give you an accurate answer because I have never used either product in that way (stand alone product with no maintenance). I know that the Pinnacle boys are ecstatic with the durability they did in testing, and knowing them and their standards, I would be surprised if it is nothing short of outstanding.

As far as applying Optimum spray wax, try this...

Mist it on a microfiber towel (not on to the paint) and spray quickly over an area. Come back immediately with a dry microfiber towel and buff until you feel it get slick. While this ways takes a little bit longer then using it like a quick detailer (which it isn't) it ensures even coverage and no streaking (IME)
