Well, after letting the first coat cure for over 24 hours, I put the second coat of Souveran on my black GTI. Wow, does it really look liquid now.
Like many mass produced cars, there is a hint of "orange peel" to the paint job, not nearly as bad as many I've seen including some much much more expensive cars (even BMW & Mercedes), but "just" there none the less.
Anyway, the Souveran, and this slight "surface irregularity" which we will call "orange peel" really do seem to combine to form a very liquid look.
It's actually amazing and somewhat unexpected. I think I will stop this insanity with just 2 Souveran layers, and see how it holds up with the 2-3 times a month wash and quick detail.
