This one was NASTY, she leaves it out side under a tree all the time and she gets the free tunnel washes every so often. Silver is such a hard color to capture defects but its not hard to see the gleam in the end.

It looks very nice, that thing was funky before. I noticed your work truck in the back ground. I would love to see your set-up. Thanks and great job.

I started this thread for a reason, actually a couple. First off let me thank everyone for the kind words. The client was beside herself when she saw her car, so much so that she gave me phone numbers to 3 high profile references. Second here is the actual process.
actual time spent 1 1/2 hours
Paint
1bucket 4mits(8 sides) citrus/MGC
griots clay
Chrystal polish
TURTAL WAX ICE POLISH

Rims
barrels/ acid
fronts/ citrus various brushes

Tips
acid+steel wool

The reason I posted all those bogus steps was to illustrate how how using almost any product correctly can give you outstanding results. I use Turtle Wax Ice and love it, I'm not ashamed. I think it gives a nice wet shine and in my experience it lasts, also being able to use it on trim is a plus. I have probably just labeled myself in some fashion but I really don't care because the end product and customer satisfaction is all I'm concerned about. This customer didn't want to pay any more than $90 inside and out so I gave her just over an 1 1/2 of work. I'm not out to completely correct every paint job I come across, especially when I will most likely be back to detail it in a couple of months. My end result is fantastic and I get them coming back, I sometimes wish I could spend 2 days on a car but I just can't find enough of those to feed 4 mouths. I'm not a hacker rather a detailer who has a good grasp on time management and efficiency. Once again thanks for looking, and there is no optical illusion the car does look that good. I take that back there is one, The scratch that I'm pointing at was just a dog hair.

I was actually shocked to see a detail posted by you. LOL

The car looks absolutely stunning, regardless what products you used. I would have been thrilled if it was my car.

Great job - Post some more

This is just what business is all about - satisfying your customers.

I need to post more, believe it or not it's good therepy. The box I have my buckets in does not have wheels, I thought about it, but its heavy and bulky. Besides I only carry one bucket around at a time, I just use more mits and rinse them before I use them again.

OK. First let me say that I love the scratch/dog hair thing.:rofl

If your goal here was to prove that "Turtal" wax Ice is just as good as any other product out there and that you can make a car look just as good in 1 1/2 hours than someone who spends 2 days then I think you are mistaken.

What this does prove is that pictures on the internet aren't the best way to judge a detail (especially on a silver car). I'm not saying your not a good detailer or that this car didn't turn out very nice.

As I have said before, the majority of my details take less than 4 hours and I am pretty proud of the results I get within that time frame and I consider myself a darn good detailer. Are my 3-4 hour details as good as some of the 16 hour details that have been posted? I would hope not for the sake of the customer paying to have all that time spent on their car.

It sure seems like we have been getting a lot of our long time members starting to make statements that discount the need for high end detailing products. If this is the way you want to go with Detail City then I won't stop you but I can tell you that having helpful sponsors that do their best to bring you top quality products as well as expert advice is going to end up being a thing of the past at this rate.:(

While the car does look good, and I agree excellent results can be achieved with just about any product... I like to point out a couple things.

One, there is no real 50/50 shot that shows below surface correction.

Two, pictures can hide a LOT, and you definitely can not tell the diference between LSP's by looking at a pic.

Use what works for you and as long as your customers are happy that is all that matters. :howdy

Troy, I thought u got the same price for a 5 hr job and a 12 hr job ????????? :lmfao :rofl :wow:

I'm not pushing any product, I only use otc products on those "mini details" any "full detail" gets the good stuff like ssr 1,2, 2.5, natty's and pws. I meant no harm just trying something to see if anyone noticed. I will post an Alfa Romao that I did about a month ago, with the good stuff. Also I noticed I spelled turtle wrong when I was typing but forgot to change it.

The first pic is the only before I have, it wasn't to bad. The client just had bought it on-line and was told it was all original. Well upon further review half the car had CC, I had to explain to him what this meant. He wasn't very happy to say the least, In the end he was pleased with the results. He probably wouldn't even have noticed if I didn't point it out.

Products used

Sorry if I caught a little attitude. I just would like to see more showcase work with sponsored products than of non-sponsored stuff. I guess I will have to make this my mission.;)
