Sonus vs. Propel Pads and Backing Plate?

I am trying to decide between the purchase of Sonus pads/backing plate and Propel similar products. What are the differences in quality between these two ? I don't mind paying extra for a higher quality product but I do like to get my moneys worth!

They are very similar products, both are great pads. The Propel pads are cheaper, and come with Patrick's fantastic customer service.

I love the propel pads I just received from Patrick. They were on backorder so when he sent them out to me he also included a WW mf towel for free and also sent me a little over $2 back to my paypal for charging to much for shipping!!!! He is an awsome man to do business with and his products are second to none IMO.

I agree, nothing against Sonus, but I would choose Propel. The quality of the pads are up to par with the most expensive pads at a fraction of the cost. Not only is the quality what keeps me going back to Excel Detail, but his service (like many other vendors here) is superb. He is the only one I know of who refunds shipping charges. I had a problem with my order once and it promptly shipped out a new product and sent me some free goodies. Not to mention im in NC and Excel is in CA and EVERY SINGLE order gets here in 2 days!

I've never used any other pads before but you can't beat the prices of Exceldetail products. I had their blue, green, and yellow pads. They work great with my products and service is really good. If he carried Meguiars, 3M and Poorboy I would buy all my supplies from him!

I've been a huge lake country fan, until I finally got around to trying the propels patrick sent me almost a year ago. I am now sold!

What BB are you guys using? He told me he prefers a 6" but most of you are using a 5" correct?

I just ordered a bunch of Propel pads from Patrick for my newly purchased PC after hearing such great comments about them.

Patrick is great to deal with. He'll respond to your emails within hours, as he did with me.

Were your LC pads the "newer" Hi-Gloss "Constant Pressureâ„¢ technology pads" available from CMA (aka properautocare.com)? Has anyone tried them? How do they compare to Propels pads?

A quick question about Propel Pads from Excel detail.

I just received the backing plate, black, green and blue pads.

The black pad is a bit thicker than the green/blue pads and has a slightly larger beveled edge. Also, the green and blue pads have a small (2-3 mm) hole going completely through the center of them (completely through the foam and white velcro backing). The black does not have a hole. It seems like polish would migrate up this hole and get on the backing plate velcro - is this common or a manufacturing defect?

That small hole in the center is supposed to be there. I forget what its purpose is, but the black finishing pad does not need it.

I think its a centering whole for rotary use. The black finishing pad wouldn't need it because most won't apply a LSP with a rotary, andif they do it'll be at low speed where balance isn't an issue.
