Sonus Paintwork Cleanser Review *Pics*

Depends, by paint condition do u mean swirling, bird dropping etches, buffer marks ?

If u define it slightly then we will be able to give a more suited polish/cleaner for your application/need.

John.

Yes. I'm not sure about swirling but it does have light to medium scratches on it. It most likely has bird dropping etches and tar/sap stains. Please advise accordingly. Thanks!

You could try using SPC for your problems, but I would personally start off with a more aggressive polish than a mild cleaner. 1Z PP would by my choice for what you are dealing with and then follow it with SPC. SPC will round off the edges of your scratches a little bit but won't get them out like an actual polish will.

What JDookie posted above performed awesome...1zpp followed with SPC, finished with a glaze or wax of your choice.

For me, I experimented and after the SPC used VM...seemed to be an extra step that produced little benefit(maybe a bit deeper color on the test section, but too little benefit vs. the time/product cost)

My 2cents worth.

Since this post, I haven't actually done a single thing to the Expedition other than washed it once. It still looks great. Does SPC have any protectants in it? Because it was beading like mad when I washed it about a week ago.

It's been at the stereo shop getting an awesome system installed for the past week, and it's COVERED in dust now, so when I get it back (hopefully next week) I am going to do VM, EX, Souveran and will post some pics in the Click and Brag for you guys.

JDookie,

Curious if you would care to try your coctail but on a test panel switch out VM for SPC , followed by the rest of your routine.

Post what difference if any you see ??

Regards,

ChrisC

I would but I can pretty much tell you that there really won't be much of a difference, if any at all. The whole truck has been SPC'd, and I'm only doing VM because I have a brand new bottle I'm dying to try out (along with EX). I am thinking the end result will be the same, regardless whether I use SPC or VM, but I have another idea. I am thinking that there will be a slight difference if comparing one SPC'd panel to one VM'd panel. By the time EX and Souveran are on top, I don't think it will look any different but I'm sure SPC vs. VM *will* be different and I will post those pics. How does that sound?

So if I wanted to remove defects first, would it be Menzerna Intensive Polish, Final Polish II, then SPC, then Glaze, or should I eliminate one of them? I don't understand which it replaces....or if I should just stick with a full Menzerna routine.

Carl

If you polish the surface well enough with IP/FP, you won't need the glaze. SPC is nothing more than a surface prep, so using it after the polishing wouldn't be a bad idea but isn't mandatory either.

When you say glaze, what product are you referring to? If it's VM, then you could use it in place of SPC since they are along the same lines. Just choose one.
