Sonus pads in Canada

Is there anywhere in Canada to order Sonus pads or do I have to order from down south.Just drove down to Lowes in Bellingham and picked up my PC 7336 for $99 US.Declared it at the border and the nice lady let me go through. So in total including gas it only cost about $150 Canadian.Anyway, back to the pads,I'd rather have Sonus but if I can't get them from a Canuck vendor I guess I'll buy a set of LC pads from CCS or EShine to make do until they get the new style LC pads in.Just can't wait to try my PC!

I'm curious myself. I'm from Toronto and I have no idea where I can get some pads either.

Just curious, are there a lot of vendors that don't ship to Canada, or is it the shipping cost and customs that make it more costly?

Last time I checked the shipping details on the autopia-carcare.com website I swear I saw it mention USPS global express to Canada, or something like that. If so then you shouldn't worry, shipping costs will be minimal that way.

Yup. USPS. I've ordered lots of stuff from the Perfect Shine, LLC that way. Shipping costs are not so minimal though. Unless you get a big order, it's not worth it. Better to get the LC pads from eshine or carcaresmart.

Its not the shipping costs, its the Brokerage charges. For example, I ordered a $7.00 Balljoint boot and paid $10 shipping. When they came to my door they asked for another $18 Brokerage charges, Sooo, That $7 part just cost $35! Yikes!

Yeah, that too. I got a set of mudflaps from a Subaru dealer in Auburn. $77 US there, $170 CDN at local dealers, but by the time I paid shipping and brokerage, it was $21 US shipping, and another $28 CDN brokerage. Savings ended up being about $20. :(

Welcome Rockyram:wavey . I've ordered from the US a few times and it is a lot less expensive from eshine or CCS. I hope one of them will carry sonus pads as would like to try them. I have to say though, I really like the LC VC pads.

DSVWGLI, hi, do you care to endulge where you got some less expensive pads from the states for the rest of us Canucks? thanks!

DSVWGLI have you had any problems with the LC pads tearing around the velcro?By your post you mean it is cheaper to order from EShine or CCS,correct?I just got an email from EShine and they should be getting the new style LC pads in a week or so.Can't wait, gotta try that PC.

Brokerage fees are not a problem with USPS. UPS is very bad for brokerage fees.

I never have a problem with fees when I order from a U.S. vendor. I ask that it be shipped USPS and some vendors will even label it as a gift so I by pass Canadian sales tax. I find it cheaper to order from the U.S. than Canada because there is no way around the sales tax if I order from Canada. Now that the CDN dollar is up it's even better.

Most U.S. online vendors have a good understanding of the problems that Canadians face with recieving products from the U.S. I place all my orders over the phone and talk to them about what I want done. PakShak and Autopia Store are the most Canadian friendly. Ranney and David O know what to do;)

Bang on, Steve.

Don't confuse USPS and UPS!

I've been trying to decide where to buy pads from for weeks- it seems eshine and CCS are the only 2 really viable sources for us, but they rarely, if ever, have sales :( (hint hint;) )

I wanted to purchase Excel pads from http://www.prestostore.com/ however, at the checkout, it seems it's only delivered in the states.

This is rather unfortunate for us Canadians. Shipping shouldn't cost that much more anyways especially since they're so light.

Any idea if Presto Store really does ship to Canada?

i wud order from eshine or CCS, and be happy with what they have to offer. BE a proud Canadian and support those guys...they are doing us a huge favour existing here. I've always used the 3x factor when ordering from U.S. (triple the cost of item to your door!) after duty, currency exchange, shipping, brokerage fees and taxes, and a long wait....it adds up and sux. I do like the idea of the "GIFT" scam though!!

You obviously don't know how to order from U.S. vendors properly.

Brokerage Fees- Not a problem when using USPS. Demand that it be sent that way or take your business else were. Most U.S. vendors will ship USPS. I have only had one who refused and I don't do business with them.

Currency Exchange- the dollar is up and not that much of an issue. When you factor in the cheaper price of the product on the U.S. site its a wash.

Duty- American made products fall under NAFTA. No duty period. If you order products that are not American, for example Klasse or Korean made microfiber, the vendor can do some things to help you here. How they package it and label it plays a big part on how Customs handle the package. If it's done right Customs won't even open it. They will just see "car care products" from a U.S. store and send the package on it's way. I have ordered thousands of dollars of products from U.S. sources and never paid a dime of duty.

Taxes- When you purchase from a U.S. vendor you don't get charged U.S. sales tax. You might get charged Canadian sales tax when it hits the border but again the vendor can help you here. Some will reduce the price on the shipping label. Some label it a gift and place a low dollar value on the label. When this is done the taxes are minimal. When you order from a Canadian source you pay the sales tax, no way around it. Many times I have avoided Canadian sale tax completely by ordering from U.S. sources.

Shipping. Yes you will pay more than if you ordered from Canada.

Do all these thing and many times it is actually cheaper to order from U.S. sources and at worst it's the same price.

There are U.S. vendors that are better at shipping to Canada than others.

yeah your right stevet...just keep buying from the states.

BTW, what do ya do when the order you receive isnt right (pay for the shipping back and wait again), or ya have a warranty issue....i guess i've been down this road b4.

actually, funny story here, i checked some prices lately for #83 and #80 (the smaller bottle). 16.95 and 19.95 U.S. dollars.

so i go to my local UAP autpro store down the road and check prices there (expeting them to have to order it) and in two minutes I have prices in Canadian 19.95 and 23.95. the best part was it was shipped from Cambridge and got to this little remote town by 3:30 pm that DAY. cheers.
