Sonus Detailing Clay?

Today was the first time I used Sonus detailing clay and Sonus Glyde and it was very interesting. Is Sonus Clay formulated to break down? I seemed to loose a lot of the clay and it broke down very easy. It also didn't grab as much contaminants off my paint. I have used Clay Magic 9 or 10 times and always had good results and the bar always held up.

Any info on this product would be great.

I usually take a third or fourth of a sonus bar and can do a whole car. It seems that when I get by the last few panels it starts to break down. It is suppose to be a "fine" detailing clay and doesn't really have alot of bite. These two things annoy me, but I don't have the need for a really aggressive clay at this point.

Matt are you using the green clay or the grey clay?

I use both of the clays very frequently and have never had a problem with either grey or green clay breaking down or falling apart. HOWEVER, I have heard from many people that the green clay does indeed fall apart from certain clay lubes that don't mix with the clay right. You might want to try for a lubricant just some clean soapy water instead of glyde- I find that's much easier than using Glyde or any spray lube (and cheaper).

In my own opinion if you're claying your car for the first time i'd use the grey clay as, I think, the green really is not anywhere near aggressive enough to remove serious contaminants. For the price the clay is hard to beat. I usually get the 3 for 2 deal-2 greens and a free grey for under $20 which is the only real reason why I get them. Pinnacle ultra poly-clay is rediculously too much $.
