Sonus detailing clay

I have only used zaino clay in the past and would like to try something new. I plan to place an order through the autopia store in the near future so I am thinking of buying some new clay while I am at it.

Does anyone have experience with either of the sonus clay's? Does anyone know what the difference between the two is?

I have the green clay. I use it when I want to clay, but the job is on the mild side, or when I want to prepare the surface for a fresh coat of wax to "perk up" the look of the car. It works very well for that purpose.



I haven't tried the gray, but I know that it is intended for heavier jobs. I plan to get some; then, I'll figure that I have a good one-two punch.



Plus, the service from the Autopia store is super. Sometimes, I swear that if I took a long nap, the products would be here by the time I woke up ; )

I have both of the above clays. The difference is the size of the abrasive particles in the clay. The ultra-fine has smaller particles.

I use the Ultra-Fine for my car, and the block clay for more typical cars. The contamination in my paint doesn't need a clay of average aggressiveness, so that's where the Ultra-Fine fits in.

Same here. In fact, the Sonus clays are all I use these days.



The green Ultra-Fine is very, very mild if used correctly. Like Hey, Moe I use it before refreshing my LSPs, and to remove any contamination that my washing doesn't get. It doesn't have an appreciable effect on my existing LSP unless I *really* clay aggressively with it.



I'd keep some of the gray stuff on hand too, you'll almost certainly need it.

Soft99 has a 150 g mild clay for dark colors (therefore I assume it is milder) and it is green too. www.autofreak.net carries it for US$13.99.

I went with the gray Sonus clay for my van that has never been clayed. I used it on the hood the other day and after JUST claying the hood felt like it was freshly waxed. I used it with the Sonus clay lube.
