Sonus Clay vs. Clay Magic

Use their #49 Body Shine lube, it just makes sense to use the product the way it was designed to be used. Don't be cheap and use something else (like car soap), that's not how it was designed to be used.

As far as I can tell 49-Body Shine is a soap-based lube and its formulation seems quite basic. Sorry. I have a box of it and it works well, but I wouldn't get any more of it because of the sprayer. In fact I have half a box unused and just use my own shampoo lube.

If you use the Clay Magic clay then it might be wise to stick to it according to Auto Wax's recommendation.

Heh heh, I always take what reps say with a grain or two of salt ;) In *your* experience does it compromise LSPs?

I usually clay my vehicles once a month and wax every 3-4 months. I have never noticed a change in the way each car shines or beads water after claying. Also, I've owned black and dark colored vehicles(as well as silver and white), and clay(blue) has never mared or dulled the finish after use when doing maintainence cleaning. Unless there's another way to measure wax, I would have to say it doesn't affect the performance of LSP.

David Fermani- OK, and thanks for the detailed response. I've always wondered how ClayMagic behaves in that regard. As for the marring, I always figure that unless somebody's using overspray clay any marring indicates poor claying technique ;)
