Sonus and Klasse SG

I have a few coats of SG on my car right now (which I applied with the BillNorth method after claying, and a base coat of AIO). I've been using Sonus and Final Inspection as quick detailers. I wash the care fairly often. However, in the parking garage at work, the car seems to get covered with this annoying fine dust. So, once a week or so, I will go over the car with Final Inspection or Sonus. I just do that to get the dust off, and remove any pollen, dead insects, etc.

Anyway, maybe it is my imagination, but I've been very impressed with what Sonus does for the shine. FI gets the dust off the car, and I don't seem to be getting swirls or other fine scratches, but it is Sonus that seems to really brighten the car. It seems to really refresh the SG and the car just glows afterwards.

Is this my imagination or have others had such a positive experience with this product?

I think I'm going to order a few more bottles (even though I have a gallon of FI sitting in my garage).

Sonus is great stuff, nice smell and made exactly for Klasse, the FI is a just a simple QD, not fancy but gets the job done. I have and use both, but prefer Sonus.

SONUS isn't cheap, but I find it really adds POP to SG. If you haven't tried UPP over SG & SONUS give it a whirl - your MF will just slide right off a horizontal surface all by itself!

NOT, but it will seem like it. UPP is great for slickness!

My understanding is that Sonus actually contains a small amount of carnauba wax....I am ording some of this. I have P21S carnauba wax on top of my SG. I read that the Sonus replaces some of the evaporated wax which is what keeps in shining.

I'm new, so not sure if that's right or wrong, but that's what I read anyway.

Downside to UPP is that it is not widely available.

99SVTCobra,

Try Pinnacle Crystal Mist QD over carnuba as it DOES contain some carnuma. I used it a lot when I was using Souveran over AIO last year

OK, I was totally wrong. I said Sonus but I meant Pinnacle Crystal Mist. That is what I just ordered yesterday. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm a newbie, what can I say;) Thanks for clarifing that.

I really like Sonus and it doesn't leave any streaks like the other QD products that I have used before.

I had a car gathering to go to over the weekend and didn't have time to fully detail the car because of bad weather and it has been in storage since last November. I used Sonus QD over the Zaino I applied before winter and the paint looked better than ever before.

I always got streaks from using Zaino's Z6 QD product but the Sonus left no streaks at all and the paint had a better shine.

No, but it's pretty much like any other boutique product that you get on the internet. Only, in this case, you can only get it from premiumautocare. I have a gallon of it when it went on sale last year, before the name change from Platinum to 4 Star! :D

I use final inspection a lot too, and it doens't streak at all. It just doesn't leave that bright shine that SONUS does.

One more question to resurrect this thread. Is anyone still using the Eagle One Wipe N Shine quick detail spray over Klasse and between coats of SG? That too old school?

I use QuikShine between coats of SG. It also adds a lot of pop to the shine. I like it because it is slick, looks great and works equally well with SG or a carnauba.

That is interesting. Do you know why that does not cause a bonding issue with SG?

Most QD's don't have any wax. They are mostly water. Unless they specifically state there is wax, like EF Clear Pearl, there is no wax, so it should not cause a problem for SG.
