Sontara SPS Detailing Cloth

There has been some discussion of subj clothes over on the Sport Trac board I frequent - owner of a body shop swears by them.



"Professional polishing and detailing cloths. Made from a DuPont fabric that's extremely soft and pure, these cloths contain no silicone, chemical additives or binders. And they're virtually lint-free, making them ideal for delicate cleaning jobs or for polishing your BMW to a perfect shine. Each cloth measures about 15" x 15", giving you more than 220 sq. in. of surface area on each side. And the handy dispenser box contains 275 sheets, making it a great value."



Anyone use them/like them/know about them?
 
never heard of them, but now i am interested, those would be great for the the removal of the polishes, then finish off the car with a nice MF with the wax.
 
Great pic called a paint store and read her the part # right off your pic. Will have to pick some up to try. Should be perfect for doorsill area etc.

Received my sample Sontaras (Solvent, First, Fast, Polish/Detail and Cleanup Cloths) from Dupont today.



The White Polish/Detail Cloth looks a little like a combination of 3M's Yellow Detailing Cloth and a Cheese Cloth. It has no borders, has no nap, has no tags, is very soft, absolutely lint-free, leaves no marring on a CD (used with P21S GEPC) using heavy pressure, no washing (use once and throwaway), very inexpensive, 15X15 or 12X17 sizes.



With the winters first snow storm arriving very soon to the East Coast, my detailing days for now are over.



Has anyone used the Sontara cloths to remove polish or glazes off the paint? How does it stackup to the better MF's?
 
I've been using them (the polish/detail cloths) since this summer when I read this thread. I bought them at my local auto body paint store for about $5.00 for a package of 50.



They work very well. Thin, soft, they glide over the paint instead of grabbing it like a MF would do. Obviously they don't have a nap like MF's so they don't hold as much wax dust but they don't seem to deposit excess dust all over the car. I don't shake them out like I'd do with a cotton terry towel.



I haven't used them to remove heavy oil products like glaze but I do use them to remove polish and wax. Performance is excellent on both. With some mfr's stating that MF's will remove the wax after application due to their grabbiness, I think the Sontara cloths might be a better choice than a MF to remove carnauba.



For people who want a soft, safe, and disposable cloth, the Sontara SPS is a winner.
