Something a little different? Ex loggers truck

I found a can of Prestone Interior Cleaner... has anyone used it?



Also, do I use these type(Eimann Fabrik etc..) of cleaners weekly? montly? What would I use to clean regularly?

The Prestone cleaner works well, especially if you have some stubborn stains on the carpeting/floor mats. I wouldn't see any need to use it (or other cleaners like EF, etc) on a weekly basis, but rather "as needed" once you get the interior looking good.



For weekly cleanings, a Swiffer (or Pledge GrabIt!) static towel will work wonders, and if necessary a little mild interior cleaner (the Griot's works great) will usually take care of any problems you're having.

So This is a little something something to show you guys what goes on over at my dads Big Rig detail shop. If you havn't heard, we are having to close up due to economy issues, So I figured I would post this here on TID, It's a whole different world in the Semi Truck Detailing. We have a 8 man crew that does this and They get all the credit, I stick with car detailing anyways here is a pretty rough truck that we put out here at Custom Detail. This is an older write up that I had posted back in the day from another forum, but I doubt anyone has seen it here.

This truck came to us from peterbilt to test our limits. It was a trade in from an old Logging company.

Detailing these bigO' nasty things can get pretty dirty. I was gonna call my buddy Mike Rowe to come do a show of dirty jobs with us, but we decided not to.

Anyways there are gonna be more pics then words so here it goes

The Truck comes to us from the Peterbilt Senior Sales Manager saying "Here ya go, this is gonna test your limits" and it looks like this

Then after a good thurough washin and we flashed all the aluminum with acid to soften it up and get it to get it ready for the buff and polish! and it came out like this

Having 2 of our employees buffing and polishing all the aluminum with pnumatic rotary buffer @4000rpm and heavy duty compound with 8in 4ply wool pads, followed by a hand polish to a mirror finish. It usually takes about 16 hours to complete a full detail, along with the aluminum getting polished we also detail the inside and buff and wax the cab and Remove Lettering. Here are the final shots

Very nice work glad I looked, I'm getting tired of seeing swirls removed from 2011's so it's nice to see someone get down and dirty!

Wow Eric, that's no cake-walk. It really goes to show that detailing skills don't always have to be used on the nice expensive cars. It looks great!

Bzzzt... wrongo. I remember that one as well as others you've posted. Seriously cruddy always gives the potential for an incredible turnaround. As nice as the aluminum turned out I recall being impressed with the shine on the rear chassis.

Sorry to hear the you're closing. When one door closes there's another opening somewhere, you just have to find it. Best of luck.
