Someone hit my car

Finish my shift @ 7am and am glad it's over cuz I'm dead tired. Walk to my car in the parking lot and what do I see.....SOMEONE HAS HIT MY CAR!!! Front bumper, passenger side, right by the headlight. I just freaked. Inspected the cars beside me and no damage. So the #$#@ must've either hit my car and then parked somewhere else or the person who I parked beside when I started my shift (7pm) pulled out, hit it and took off.

Anyway, the pics show the damage. What I was wondering is can I either wet sand or use a rubbing compound on the red circled areas? That part is basically paint rubbed off from his/her car. Tried claying it but didn't work.

The blue circled area is all the way down to the black plastic so I think I'm just going to use some touch up paint. I know that'll look crappy but it's a quick fix and I can't afford to get it fixed professionally.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

damn, that sucks, happened to me 2 weeks ago as well...

Your assumption is right, the red circle can be buffed off... the blue one can't...

Try to hunt for a green/torquois (sp) car in your area.

Sorry to hear what happened. My car was hit twice last week while parked outside, they weren't as bad as yours, but I was pretty ticked off. One hit me just enough to leave scuffs, but that's all. The second one pretty much made a crack in my bumper and the paint is cracking.

I would try using a light compound on the red part before resulting to wet sanding. If you're not afraid, try using your fingernail to scratch off the green paint, then buff out the scratches your fingernails left. Just touch-up the blue area. Just a warning though, no matter how good of a job you do, silver will not match.

Good luck!

Have you looked into Aero Colours Airbrush Company? They have many locations around the US, and would be able to help fill in the part that's down to the plastic, match it, re-clear it, and blend it all in with the rest for a cheap price. Go on Google, type in Aero Colour and hit "I'm Feeling Lucky." It should come up. Good luck...
