Maui No Ka Oi
Aloha,
I'm not a professional detailer...well, not even a detailer by any stretch of the imagination. I do like my vehicles clean and shiny, though.
My wife freaked when I bought a '05 F150 SCrew that was black. Her words. "You know how much time you spent on cleaning the Mustang?" That one was black too. I'd been checking out this forum, so I bought an armload of PB stuff from Ranney at PakShak...SSS, S&W, S&G, BPw/C, some WW towels...hehe, I'm gettin' the acronyms.
Anyway, I tried all the stuff, except the BPw/C (yet) and I am amazed. I had always been a, "Whatever car wash soap that's on sale," kinda guy. With the 'Stang, I did use car wash soap though, never harsh detergents or dish liquid. I used to wash it in the back lot of the police station before going on the road...(I retired from being a cop here on Maui and was able to use my own car for work). I polished and waxed it once or twice a year. But now, it's like I can't wait to clean the truck! I love using this stuff! I rigged up my hoses w/QD's picked up some nozzles. I built a "mini" foam gun by taking a small hose-end sprayer apart so I could get more water pressure into the container. It didn't work that well, but better than it did before. I can't find a Gilmour Foam-Gun here on Maui. My neighbor calls me "Turbo"...whatever runs ain't fast enough for me...from mowers to hose sprayers...I need speed, Bro!
I just want to say ALOHA and MAHALO to the people on this forum. Especially to Ranney over in Honolulu for getting the stuff to me quickly, and even refunding some of the shipping cost. This forum really opened my eyes to see just what it takes to be a professional detailer...how exacting the work really is and what is involved in getting a customer's vehicle back in the best shape possible. A "Tip of the Cap" to those of you who do it for a living:howdy
