Let's watch it guys.... I locked down this thread and then took another look at it. If this is going to turn into a bashing people who sue or don't sue then I will lock it down again. No personal attacks and let's respect each other's opinions. I think we can all agree that the lady probably wasn't in the right state of mind after the accident and was angry. We all would be. Let's get back to detailing, shall we?
 
People are like that naturally. Especially in AMERICA :fear: I just don't agree with the part where you said :dontgetit "Sometimes it is just your time to go." :rolleyes:

sometimes your time can be prevented. Sueing sometimes makes Multi Billion dollar companies test and keep researching products before they hit the market. I used the Viox example because those people taking it did'nt deserve to die. Sueing is not always an opportunist stand. But rather a way to get redemption :yes:
 
People under extreme emotional duress CAN behave in "far from normal" ways. Wanting revenge is a NORMAL reaction. However, it seems to me that if revenge and punishment were her true motivation, her target wouldn't be BMW.

If it were ME, the person driving the U-Haul had better pray that I was incapacitated by the accident, or at the very least, trapped inside the car until after the local PD arrived, because I would want to kill them.
 
I am sorry to this sad story and my coldolences go out the lady and her family who lost their Grandfather. Losing a friend or family member is not easy and is an emotionally charge and challenging time no matter the time of the year.

Not trying to play devil's advocate, but these actions are a very common defense mechanism. People take their negative feelings and express them in very different ways. In this one, she was looking to blame someone.

On another note, I knew someone who hit a telephone pole head on at around 30mph withOUT a seatbelt on. The airbag did not deploy because of that (02 Durango R/T). IMO, you deserve it if you choose not to wear a belt.

why would this thread have to be locked down? we are all discussing and debating opinions but no-1 is ARGUING. as for namecalling or personall attacks. i have not seen one. we all ahve opinions, and even because someone does not share mine, does not mean i hate the persona nd im gonna start bashing.

this is in the offtopic forum and everything we are talking about is offtopic with detailing and on topic with the thread.

we can talk and share our opinions right?

I don't know why. We are all getting along fine. man i get the feeling this forum gets locked alot. :image is this normal ?
 
The dude was not wearing his seatbelt anyway. The airbags where designed to assist along with the seatbelts. Heck, not sure about BMW but some are even made to NOT go off if the seatbelt is not fastened. No seat belt plus exploding airbag would of probably killed him just the same.
Sad news but I hate sue happy freaks.
