some newbie questions

hey guys, I'm new to the whole detail world.. I have been cleaning my truck for some time now.. but I wanted to get a little more serious.. The S&W (spray and wipe?) i'm guessing is a final touch on a detailed car? Is that safe to use everyday by itself? will using that stuff and a cloth scratch the truck?

Now to my second question I would like to know all this because the owner of my local bar's has a friend who owns a detail shop and he owns me a few favors and said his friend would detail my entire truck for free and I want to keep it looking great after I get it back. I was wondering if anyone would know what it would cost me if I had to pay for it (99 black expedition) and how much of a tip I should leave the guys who do it. thanks !
 
S + W can be used after a wash, detail, or just everyday cleaning. It is a versatile product. You may want to follow it up with a QD (quick detailer) that has some wax in it, depending on what kind of final wax you use. Get you some good micorfiber (MF or uF...depending on the typer) and you will not scratch, provided you have no gritty substances on the car to begin with. You have found the right place learn about more serious detailing. There are some people here who do outstanding work and I am sure they will offer tips and answer any questions you may have. I would charge $200 to do the Expedition and I'd allow myself 5 hours to get it done. The rest of your question was answered perfectly by JaredPointer.
