After seeing numerous positive reviews on Pinnacle Paste Glaz, I just had to check it out. The test car was a friend’s gold 1986 Volvo 240. It has never been garaged or waxed, and has some bird etching, and “ferrous oxides.
For the prep, I washed the entire car with Meguiar’s Gold Class and used Finesse-It 2 by hand a number of times. Then rough spots were yanked out with Mother’s Clay Kit.
Then I opened the can. The first thing I noticed was the great smell and how nice the packaging was. I dabbed the provided applicator onto the wax and spread it over the paint. It was easier to spread around than Blitz or Meguiar’s #26 Paste, because of the creamy consistency. The amazing part was how easy it was to remove. Virtually no buffing was needed, just a slight wipe with a Miracle Towel.
As for the results I am very impressed. I expected a finish that’s deeper than Blitz, but instead, the paint looked brighter and more shiny, however without the “hard look of Klasse or Zaino. It really works well on this classic-looking car. The reflectivity is good too, and the paint feels more buttery than Blitz, but not as slick as Zaino.
Then I applied the second layer after observing the finish. It was easier to apply (less drag and better “spreadiblity) than before, and less product was needed. And wiping it off was even easier. I was literally walking and spreading the wax all over the car with my left hand, and dragging my towel along with my other hand. Now I see what I mean by taking about the same time to use as a QD.
In conclusion, I would recommend this wax for everybody with a light colored car. It’s great for both the perfectionist or just the average car enthusiast that washes at least every 2 weeks. Durability is not great at all (lasted 4 weeks in the California weather,) but since the wax is so easy and quick to use it wouldn’t be a problem for me.
