Some new parts

After seeing numerous positive reviews on Pinnacle Paste Glaz, I just had to check it out. The test car was a friend’s gold 1986 Volvo 240. It has never been garaged or waxed, and has some bird etching, and “ferrous oxides.

For the prep, I washed the entire car with Meguiar’s Gold Class and used Finesse-It 2 by hand a number of times. Then rough spots were yanked out with Mother’s Clay Kit.

Then I opened the can. The first thing I noticed was the great smell and how nice the packaging was. I dabbed the provided applicator onto the wax and spread it over the paint. It was easier to spread around than Blitz or Meguiar’s #26 Paste, because of the creamy consistency. The amazing part was how easy it was to remove. Virtually no buffing was needed, just a slight wipe with a Miracle Towel.

As for the results I am very impressed. I expected a finish that’s deeper than Blitz, but instead, the paint looked brighter and more shiny, however without the “hard look of Klasse or Zaino. It really works well on this classic-looking car. The reflectivity is good too, and the paint feels more buttery than Blitz, but not as slick as Zaino.

Then I applied the second layer after observing the finish. It was easier to apply (less drag and better “spreadiblity) than before, and less product was needed. And wiping it off was even easier. I was literally walking and spreading the wax all over the car with my left hand, and dragging my towel along with my other hand. Now I see what I mean by taking about the same time to use as a QD.

In conclusion, I would recommend this wax for everybody with a light colored car. It’s great for both the perfectionist or just the average car enthusiast that washes at least every 2 weeks. Durability is not great at all (lasted 4 weeks in the California weather,) but since the wax is so easy and quick to use it wouldn’t be a problem for me.

Test Stats:

<strong class='bbc'><em class='bbc'> conditions:[/i][/b]
High 70s, average humidity
<strong class='bbc'><em class='bbc'> time:[/i][/b]
8:01-8:52 AM: Wash/Dry
9:00-9:18 AM: Swirl Removal
9:20-9:45 AM <em class='bbc'>(estimated)[/i]: Clay
9:45-10:07 AM: Application/Removal of Layer 1 (in a slow, observant pace)
10:31-10:40 AM: Application/Removal of Layer 2 (in a faster pace, but not rushing)
<strong class='bbc'><em class='bbc'> overall rating:[/i][/b]
<em class='bbc'>5[/i] stars out of 5

Anyways, hope this helps for anyone interested in trying a new wax! I will post pictures later.

I just read my review again and thought my statement was a bit incorrect for those who live anywhere with snow or harsh winters. Afterall... I've only touched snow like four times before, and that was in Northern California.

But for those who live in good weather most of the time, then the Pinnacle Paste Glaz is a great product for them.

And heres one picture so far... it doesn't show the great shine, but I'm taking photography classes so hopefully, I'll get better ones later.

to hear Pinnacle Paste Glaze getting a nice review from you.

If you have time, let the PPG cure for a few days, then put on another layer, the shine will increase, IMHO.

I/Aunt use Klasse/PPG for a camry that faces the NJ winters. I Klasse every Spring and Fall, and she maintains with PPG inbetween. A good system because I don't see the car often and I know its protected and washed correctly by her.

Again, good to hear the great results,

Jason

Here's a hood shot. The hood has a few scratches that you can't see in the picture. (The camera was set at the lowest resolution)

hey...any thoughts of PPG over Zaino.....someone explain the purpose averall of any Glaze.....is it like another harder layer that protects..............again..................looks fantastic...:up

is a wax IMHO. A glaze is supposed to clean/fill. The PPG just lays on top of the paint like a wax.

I would NOT use Pinnacle Paste Glaz on top of Zaino because once that is done, you can not add any more layers of Z without stripping the PPG with Dawn.

BW - Your Welcome, didn't it say that in the included pamphlet?

Still in search of the camry pictures!!!

bay ridge.....i lived in staten island for the past 7 yrs...in oakwood.....then i moved up here to the bronx about 4 mths ago....man i miss staten island...lots of room....parks...no alternate side parking....what part of SI you from?

I am currently in Grasmere, SI (Grasmere train station on SIR.)

I moved to SI in June 2000, before then I live din Brooklyn from birth-16.

I currently go to school in bay ridge, ever hear of Fort Hamilton HS? I just spent two years building my hs transcript/friends/respect so I choose not to tansfer to New Dorp HS in SI. And besides its faster to get to 4th Ave and 86th in Brooklyn from my house in SI, 25 minutes by bus, than when I used to live in Flatbush Brooklyn, which took about 45 minutes by bus.

Anyway I'll stop my babbling and get back on topic,

BW - try that curing thing and post results :)

BW, its good to hear you had great success with Pinnacle Paste Glaze. It's very difficult to not love this wax. It's easy to use, fun to use and gives great results. Laters.

Thanks Flash nope same old set those damm tires at my cost is still unreal. Also forget to mention the three days i've spent playing with the Hydro pads

I'm sorry Adam, I was so mesmerized by the wheels I wasn't paying attention to the paint

The paint looks dripping wet as usual :drool5:

About those Eagles....Yep, buying 1 set of those due to not keeping the tires properly inflated/car unproperly aligned/uneccesary burnouts/hugging corners will really make a beleiver out of yuh Da Rules!

Even at wholesale a set of those can put a hurtin on tha wallett :scared:

Don't be sorry LOL i should of done some form of write up since i used the hydro pads on the car and was pretty happy with the results.Had some marring with the cyan but the tangerine took care of that.Only thing i found also was the cyan was starting to show signs of wear pretty fast and i was using it on the flex. Also i did some wet sanding in some small areas and i didn't like the outcome using the cyan with removing the sanding marks so i just changed to the rotary and wool that took care of it in a flash .
