Some good ol' fashioned Meg's #26

While I have learned a lot about different products in reading this forum, I sometimes think that some people worry too much about product and not enough about technique . . . here's my car after some "good ol' fashioned Meg's #26" -- $12 for the tin.

Note that this is not a black car, but rather a dark grey metallic finish . . . it just looks like black! :)

as i said about 2 secs ago on MOL good job!

Thanks for the comments on both forums! :) I figured I'd cross post since I thought (apparently erroneously ;) that there were lots of folks who read Autopia.org that didn't read MOL!

Car looks great!

I like the liquid 26 for easy on/off applications and it looks just as good as several more expensive products. Durability isn't bad either.

Thats cool.......We have 4 :wow: Mochi, Mojo, Mini & Cooper. It's beyond fun now......it's serious work :nervous2: We love em' like the kids tho....

Sometimes I'll take one or two of em' for a ride with the top down, they love it!!

Regards......

Nice looking ride you have there, how do you like it ? It looks black to me. I LOVE Meg's # 26 paste, slightly darkens the paint for me, easy on / off process, GREAT results.

Amazing look of #26 on your Cadillac! I was really impressed using it for the first time. You can't beat the price of it and it is durable. I'm glad you did post here as I do have a membership at MOL but rarely go there. I guess when you read on here you don't feel the need to go other places. :)

Thanks again for all the comments! :)

In answer to one of the previous posters -- we love the SRX. It's a bit tough at the gas pump (I'm getting 14-15 mpg around town with the V8 AWD combined with my lead foot), but otherwise it's a great ride. Very sports sedan-like in handling, yet doesn't ride harsh . . . my wife loves riding in it. The extra cargo space comes in handy, and in a pinch, you can raise the third-row seats for extra seating capacity -- although we've only used it a few times, it's nice to have when you need it (though I wouldn't relegate anywhere back there for long-distance rides).

Another plus is that at least here in the Pacific Northwest, there's just not that many on the road. I would guess that at least 30-40% of our subdivision has an Acura MDX or a Lexus RX330/300 in the garage, and I don't want a "me too" car. Feel kinda good too that I'm helping out the Detroit boys. Get a lot of comments and stares about the vehicle, though I hope at least some of it is due to me keeping up on the waxing . . . .

Anyway, my original intent on posting was just to show that you can get great results even if you use a more pedestrian wax. I think all the "boutique" products definitely have their place, but the usual products are sometimes just as good -- and a lot lighter on the wallet.
