Thanks Autopia and CMA for a great place to kill time and learn stuff!

Guess I should go wipe down Avalanche again I think I saw a bird fly over. Them dayum birds love to crap on the hard grey plastic bed covers.

Anyone know of a good bird and bug deflector for my whole truck?

Just thought I share some pics of the'67 GT500 convertible I'm working on as well as some cars I'll be doing after I finish this one. I'll be doing all the wet sanding and buffing for this shop from now on. :)

Some wet sanding had already been done on this car before I arrived but I still ended up going over the whole car. I'll be heading back there later this week to start buffing.

I was pressed for time so sorry about the poor quality pics. I try to get more detailed with them as I get more into a grove. Not used to working off site. :D

Wow, those are some sharp looking GT's/Mustangs. I look forward to the finished product :toetap05:

Thanks Flash! I hope to have finished pics of the gray one next week. I have to OK it with my regular job before I take some time off this week to go back up there.

Rasky,
It looks like you will be a busy detailer!! Very cool cars. Make sure to post some pics when you are done with them.

Can't wait.

Thanks guys! Heading back up there tomorrow night late and will be working there all day Thursday, Friday and part of Saturday. Need to get the grey one done and at least start on another. I'll try and have pics Monday. ;)

After the write up on that Acura you did, this car will be a
" no brainer" for you as these classics look like they have been painted properly with nice paint.

Thanks Bob! Yeah, they are putting on 4 coats of clear which should be more than enough to safely sand all those pretty girls smooth! :drool5:

I had some good discussions with KB about different wet sanding techniques too! ;)

^Bob is alive!

Chad those look like some awesome pieces of work for you to create your magic on.

Thanks Todd! :)

Thanks Todd! :)

Tried the DF method (dave fermani lol) of trizact with a PC instead of my Dynabrade air sander and the results were great(more of a margin of safety imho) because of the slower orbits I could control the sanding disc right up to the edge of the panel or trim. Incoming Porsche 356 tribute car(Beck conversion)in Lapis blue which was pretty bad, car had HUGE orange peel texture so I hit it with 3000 grit as there was no way to tell paint depth as I do not have an extra 6K laying around for the Positech 6000(fiberglass bodied car) so no go with the Highline(sigh).

Having conversations with KB is good stuff maynard, now I understand where Todd was coming from when he put KB rules in his A*****a avatar back in the day. For as much info as he can impart he is humble as the day long with no BS whatsoever as I have zero tolerance for the embellishment game anymore in my current state of oldness.

Some more pics of the convertible...

Last minute mechanical work kept me from finishing off the complete detail but I was able to at least get it wet sanded and buffed. It was late and after 13hrs of buffing I was tired and not up to the task of taking pictures. I snapped a few and some may be slightly blurry as my tri-pod was MIA.

Hopefully on the next car I can better document the work but this one was on a tight schedule.
