i've been having luck with my green ccs german pad (a little heavier than the white ones), but it doesnt finish down well on hondas unless your careful and run it on very low speeds. can i use a black finishing pad? will a pad will no cut do the job if your using a medium polish?

I finish with the german green all the time. I have a black Honda product with soft paint as well.

i have luck with a finishing polish and the green german pads, and it finishes down fine.. however, im trying to 2 step it (wool cut, then polish), and im using hi-temp medium cut. it will leave some holograms behind.

my question is will the product still cut with a no cut finishing pad? will the heat, friction, and polish abrasives just do the job alone?

Yes it will still cut until the polish breaks down.

im confused on when it breaks down.. is it when it turns clear and not hazy? is it when its clear but still has a noticeable oily film? or is it when you can hardly even see the oily film anymore?

Finish with the softest pad available. A Red, Black, or Blue CCS pad and a fine finishing polish. The german green CCS pad has a 60 PPI rating which is fairly aggressive. How well it finishes depends on the polish and paint hardness.

When it starts to clear and still has an oily film to it. You always want to make sure when you finish off it still has an oil film to it.
