Soft Honda paint + KSG... F#^$ me

I never let KAIO get to the point where it's hard to remove. The KSG for some reason is _much_ harder to remove. The KSG streaking is super difficult to remove _cleanly_.



Under the halogens, the streaks just won't go away without a fight. I've tried waiting a while before buffing, and I've tried the wipe-on-wipe-off method. Dry buffing, fogging, spritzing water, 5:1 dilution, you name it - I've tried it. KSG and I just don't get along.



I need to just go to OH and see how it's done. But in the mean time, it's going to be a new LSP for me.

Well, I for one am *NOT* in favor of struggling to master a product. There are so many great products (in any category) that're just *SOOO* easy to use that IMO if something's a PIA you should just try something else. These days this stuff doesn't have to be some big challenge, just gotta find the right stuff for *you*.
 
I had KAIO marr the paint on my Milano Red TSX. I tried it with 3 different applicators too. I didn't try KSG yet though. I guess I really haven't had any trouble with waxes and sealants, but some polishes simply will not work on my paint. The Menzurna polishes seem to work very well as does Meguiars M205.

Huh, now that's surprising! If a non-diminishing product with real cut like M205 doesn't cause residual marring I'm at a loss as to why a usually functionally nonabrasive one like KAIO would :confused: I mean...I just don't get that :nixweiss

Rasky, I also have a MR TSX. Aint it great how that thing gets swirls in a stiff breeze and seems to chip with a heavy rain?!? :grinno:



What pads are you using with M205?

Well, AIO flashes off pretty fast. Maybe they're using too much. Anything can marr if it starts to clump up.

I tried KAIO with 2 different foam applicators and a cotton one, obviously the cotton one marred more. I've used KAIO on other finishes without any issues at all. It's not just KAIO either, manny other light polishes do the same thing.



Menz nano, PO85, M205, and 3M UF all work very well on the car though.

Yeah, definitely the worst paint I've ever had on a car. I'm taking my clear bra off since I have so many chips beyond the film already.



I use the Meguiars finishing pad with M205. I use the blue LC pads with PO85RD. I tried following M205 up last night with some the UK 3M Ultrafina on a blue UK pad. It actually added quite a bit to the finish! I was very surprised. :xyxthumbs

Someone mentioned the idea that the marring I'm seeing is actually in the previous LSP and not the paint....:think:



I'll have to test that one out some day but find it hard to imagine.
 
I have a new black TL and was looking to do the wash/clay/polish and wax. Reading this thread is scaring me a bit.



So if you are commend using opt-seal, would you still clay or do you go straight to the opti-seal. Just trying to figure out the best way to deal with my new acura.
