How about a 2004 Ferrari 360 Modena ?
I just finished detailing a Red one; OMG, the most beautiful lines, mid-engine 3.6Liter 5-Valve per cylinder V8, 6,590 original miles
The sound when it starts up - unbelieveable, also very, very, responsive to throttle input; sounds like the F1 car of that year.
Beautiful Connolly Leather throughout, including the dash, a pretty good sized boot for storage,
Wish I could have kept it in my garage for a long time !!!
Dont know what they sell for used, but if I could get a sports car, this would definitely be at the top of the list.

Haha you guys crack me up. Let me explain a couple things so there isn't any assumptions.
First, buying something like this would be for weekend/toy purposes and not as a daily D.
Second, with some amount of 5-digit down payment I'm inferring that debt, college loans, etc are paid for so you have the financial freedom for a purchase like this.
Third, I happen to love all three of these but I'm nowhere near able to purchase one now or even in the near future. I wish I could though!
I do have a comment about the Vette though, you'd be suprised how much you can fit in the back of one....
This is from my trip to Vegas for the corvette convention a few months ago. Boardwalk Chevrolet invited me and I said YES! This guy is their rep who I rode to vegas with in this 2010 Grand Sport. You can see here: 1 full size suitcase, 1 huge duffle bag, laptop case, 2 huge boxes of car show SWAG, some more duffle bags, camera equipment, and some detailing supplies to keep the vette clean for the show, and a host of other things as well. Enough for 2 guys with everything we needed for 5 days in Vegas.

Out of the three I'll take the Lambo, but I agree with all the previous posters and I personally wouldn't buy a toy car if I had to make payments on it. I've owned Porsches, Alfa's and Ferrari's and service especially on mid-engine V-8 Ferrari's are expensive. The purchase price is just an entry to the ownership experience.

None of the 3 you listed would get my $70-100k. I have driven the Z06 and Gallardo, never a Vantage however.
I would much prefer owning and driving a new GT-R if you are willing to spend 80ish for new, its all wheel drive, super quick shifts, modern technology and fully capable of daily driving/city driving. One of my customers drives his every day to Manhattan.
The Gallardo's are a bargain now but its still a lamborghini, service, oil change, bent rim = major $$$. Plus they are not comfortable and rear visibility is a joke.
The Vantage is very nice but can be out muscled out handled by cars 1/2 its price. Nothing stands out about this car for me, I'd rather have a used Mercedes CL63, bigger, more comfortable and more TORQUE!
Personally, assuming you have this kind of money to spend I say save yourself $20k and buy a good condition Porsche 996 Turbo.
Quick as is, ALL WHEEL DRIVE and capable of daily driving. Plus the GT1 engine block is indestructible and that engine has more potential for mods than pretty much anything else out there.
You can find a low mile 996tt for under $50k these days.

Of those three, I would pick the the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
The Vette would be second choice.

Well, here's another take on the conundrum...
Corvettes - Unless it was a C5 Z06 or C4 Grand Sport, I wouldn't take one.
Gallardo's - I just don't care for the look - too flashy.
V8 Vantage - The current Astons are some of the most beautiful cars on the road today. Maybe it is my love of Top Gear and their Aston raving, but there is just something unique about these cars. That being said, I know there were a plethora of transmission issues with the Vanquish and they do not hold their value very well.
Porsche - I prefer the looks of the 997 (and the cleaner engine bay), but the 996 Turbo is a great value. Even a 997 C2S or C4S could be an option.
To be honest, the argument of which car is faster is rubbish. Most of us will never take a car to the track. But, if you are, the Ariel Atom is well within your price range and will certainly trump any of these cars mentioned.
If it were me, I would save up and pay for something in cash.

I wouldnt consider any of them for that type of a price tag. My 'dream' car is a 1995 F355 GTB, 6-speed. Red on tan interior, less than 30k miles, and could be had right now for under 50k. Then id keep the extra 20k for a few mods and maintenance! :rofl:
Ive ridden in all 3 of those and driven both a DB-9 and a DBS Aston Martin. Those would be the only two I'd consider or this:

That's funny, that is pretty much my exact dream car too (red, because it looks best on this car, GTB, because the spider doesn't have the same lines, and manual trans, because flappy paddles just aren't the same).

A used RUF 911 Porsche, preferably AWD. It has the german engineering plus the cachet of being a one-off RUF. If I ever win the lottery, one of these along with a nice 22' Cobalt bowrider, will be in my garage.

Exactly. Mine definitely has to be a hardtop. Nothing less. For a daily car I'd get an older Bentley Anarge just because I like there looks. Or another fun car on my list is a 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT, 5 speed, red, white interior!

Of the three, probably the Lambo because I would imagine that it has depreciated the most. I don't see these cars ever getting below 75-80k (could be very wrong), were as the Corvette will be 30k in 5 years.

I'm sure everyone can think of other cars they would rather have or other things they might do with 70k, but the OP is looking for opinions on these three, so I will give you my opinion on the 3 you are contemplating and reasons for them.
1. I'd pick the Lambo. Easy choice in fact and Todd points out something I didn't even contemplate (depreciation), but for me the Lambo get the nod just for the sake of being the most unique, eye catching and out of the ordinary.
2. Second is the Aston Marton. Looks nice, performs well and not something you see everyday either.
3. The Vette. I'm not a "Vette-Guy" and frankly I wouldn't know the difference from one to another and I would gather to most, a Vette is just a Vette (even though that is CLEARLY not true).
So, good on you that you can afford such luxuries!!! Send us some pics when you pick any of those beasts!!!
