So what's your opinions on this beast ?...

as much as I love to see special edition cars

I would NOT call adding 25 Hp a beast!

if you want a beast look into a Cobra or Rousch or build one yourself

sure it will make a nice collector car ..................but a beast? I think not!

Phew! Thank God for that - I was afraid to admit it, just in case it was a "British" thing about American Muscle

Have I heard right that the prices are going sky high due to the rarity of the cars, and the fact that it's amaaaazing ?

What's a Rousch ?

The Roush cars are nice rides too. I have a lot of friend's working at Roush. Another Mustang I really like is the Saleen. Mr. Saleen has always made some kick butt cars in my eyes. As much as I like the Hertz car and would love to have the money to throw around to get one, you are basically paying for the name "Shelby". Shelby could take a dump in a Mustang and someone would pay 20 times the actual value of the car for it. LOL Personally I think I like the Roush and Saleens better. Living in the Detroit area for my whole life you see a lot of Roush and Saleens.

Saleen, Inc.

We do get a lot of the appearance packages around here as well and it sucks a bit. But I was behind a real Saleen a few weeks ago and there was no mistaken it. Very nice rides indeed. My father inlaw has a Belle Tire package Mustang. It starts off with a nice shaker hood and intake and then goes to all of this stick on appearance crap. Personally I would of rather bought a stock GT and did the shaker hood and intake myself and left the appearance stuff off.

I personally love the saleens. The extreme is the one to get. It has over 500hp and has the exotic looks to it also and no longer looks like a normal mustang. Pics of the car are nice, but seeing one in person is mouth watering.

A friend of mine has a 07 GT mustang that is orange and he had a supercharger installed and it is fast. I personally think modifying these cars are easy and fun.

I see a couple of roushes around where I live and are sweet looking too.

Yeah, Stangs are easy and fun to modify. Parts are a dime a dozen and can be bought just about anywhere. Persoanlly I wish Ford would bring back their SVT cars and trucks but without them I guess it helps Roush and Saleen sell more. I know Roush and Saleen do a lot of contract work for Ford anyway. Saleen actually did a lot of the work on the Ford GT when it was being built.

Well SVT used the name Shelby GT500. They built the car and teamed up with Carroll Shelby and used his name for this one hoping it would help out Ford. The prices are just way overpriced for these cars. My frind bought one to put in his garage and he bought it for $60,000. I have seen them as high as $80,000 and that is just wrong. SVT said the MSRP should be around $45,000. The dealerships are overpricing them bad.

I wish they made the Lightning again.

Saleen and SVT built the Ford GT supercar together. The only problem they had were the front suspension snapping and it was blamed on one of the Saleen emplyees.

Have you seen a Saleen S7 in person. That is one drop dead sexy car and is unbelievable in person. The sound is just intense too, but the body lines are just amazing.

all this SVT talk is starting to make me miss the misses 94 SHO

nothing better than someone that thinks thay have a fast car

only to got there door blown off by a V6 Taurus with a woman driving!

Yeah, the GT500 is the last thing to have a SVT name:

After 13 Years, Ford Abandons SVT Concept

I think the front suspension problem on the GT was do to a supplier defect. Ford sent mechanics to each GT owners home to fix the problem.

I've seen one in person. Awesome awesome ride. They just had an hour special on saleen and the S7 on the History Channel too. :)

It's nuts what the GT500's go for. My dealer offered me a convertible for $47,000. I WISH I had the money to buy it because it would of been on e-bay the next day for $80,000. LOL

Danase : Thanks for all the links......they are ALL truly wouth-watering, but if I had the money (and lived in the RIGHT country) it would have to be the Saleen. THAT looks absolutely amazing. :cooleek:

I so wish I could see one "in the flesh" though :(

What's all your opinions on the ride handling ? Is the suspension a little "spongey", or is it well kitted out when you go for something like the Saleen ?

How do you think the TT would cope at lights vs. these cars then ? (apart from sounding like a little matchbox car) :D

No problem!

I can not say from experience about the Saleen's handeling but Steve Saleen builds these cars so you can drive them from the dealer lot to the track. He builds them so they can be driven on the streets but can drive right to the track and still get awesome performance. I heard the hard part of the S7 was getting a car that had race car suspension but was also somewhat comfortable on the streets.

The TT? At least it is AWD so you could get off the line first probably! LOL
