So what's in the bag?

I did play with them a little on the Escalade earlier. I tested a bunch of things with S17 and S40 and they are great fast cutting polishes.

I call them the S Twins!

They work VERY fast and the S40 has a good mild cut for soft clears and produces a great sharp gloss. If you try working them in to long, then you will get micro marring, but work a fender for under 1 minute and I was impressed.

At first I was working them in too long (2-3 min.per panel) and I was getting micro marring after an inspection IPA wipedown. I then worked just S40 in with a black LC pad, 1 quick pass and it was perfect. It's very hard to believe how easy and fast these work.

I am dying to try these on a rock hard clear. I wish I had these this past summer.

The S17 is an all around medium cut polish/compound designed to quicky remove mild to medium defects while giving a great gloss. You can use a compound, polish, cutting,wool, finish pads with this polish as it is pad dependent on what cut and power you want it to have. It is the most versatile polish I have ever seen that works very well with ease of use. This one is a keeper!

The S40 is an anti hologram polish designed to remove micro marring and holograms from clears after compounding or polishing. It's a fast working micro polish that removes holograms quickly and easily.

These polishes are very forgiving and they clean up easy. I used them in 40 degree weather and still worked smooth.

I will add more comments and start my own review when I test them even more.

I think generally the Scholl waxes are sensitive to the layer thickness. Even the W06 can be challenging when used thickly. Yes, the W09 can be a difficult animal too when you put on too thick thick and wait too long. A panel by panel approach is good, but at a demo I saw the guy put the W09 on extremely thick with his fingers and after a while (which was uncomfortable for me already; knowing its characteristics) he removed it with the rotary and the black waffle pad at 1500 RPMs. It came off very easily, blended into the paint and I was surprised. High speed rotary removal seems to be a special feature of this stuff.

By hand I'd use less, thinner layers and a shorter setting times. I'm playing with my W06 and 09, but when you apply them correctly, they don't have removal issues.

Well, so far so good it sounds like. Would you say that the S40 has a little more cut than 106ff, but finishes down similar to 85rd? If so, it sounds like a great follow up polish after heavy compounding.

Does the S17 break down as quick as the S40, or can you work it longer?

It has the same cut as 85rd and finishes off superb. It will polish to perfection in one to two passes. You could polish a car much faster with this stuff.

The S17 seems to have a decent working time, but still cuts fast and removes medium swirls and scratches fast. I will have to get a big jug of this stuff..

Compared to Menzerna, they cut and finish in half the time with no issues. I can't wait to try these out in the hot weather.

All in all, I want to try more stuff from them. I am impressed!

Ryan, what do you think about the waxes and pads? Was it the W06 wax you had?

S30+ is the most expensive polish Scholl have but it cuts quickly trough medium/light swirls and leaves a very nice finish. A little longer working time then S40 but shorter then S17. Easy as S17 to wipe off. Comparable with Menzerna PO106FA.

Thanks for the info Marcus!

I have the W06. I have not tried it yet, but what info do you have on it?

I need to get some of the S30+.

The pads seem nice so far. I do have some of the older version pads and I know that I can not wash them though. The blue pad reminds me of the megs burgandy pad which is a great cutting pad.

It can be used basically every known way. I used my W06 only about 6-7 times, so I can say that it looks good after the 2nd and/or 3rd layer. I saw a demo where a Scholl detailer used the W09 paste (pre-softened, aka pudding) with rotary with the orange pad at 2500 RPMs and took it off with the black pad at 1500.

I have a few very important questions for you Bence

what color is W6?

What color is S40?

What color is S17

I did get a chance to see my truck today in the whole 5 minutes of sunlight we had and they did a great job at cutting/smoothing and finishing. It was very reflective and sharp looking.

I am hoping to try them on a rock hard clear very soon before I give my full review.

So far it looks like the dust is very minimal and easy to clean up. I am hoping they will save me a bunch of time in correction. They break down very fast.

S17 = purple

S40 = Black/grey

W6 = not a clue

W9 is the open jar in my post with all the pictures

The W6 is a different shade of purple.

After having a terrible time with the wax on the first panel, I realized that it was the same color as S17. :wall :wall :wall

Could I have a miss labeled bottle?

S40 didn't want to come off for me and couldn't work it in even at 2200 rpm. I hate it.

S17 I tried on the pc for others who don't use a rotary and it worked fantastic.

The spray wax worked like a charm, however didn't feel slick at all. Althouch that isn't an issue for me.

:shocked :shocked :shocked :shocked :shocked :wall :wall :wall

I understand that the spray wax is more or less a QD with minimal protection. Just enough to protect a fresyly polished surface for a short time.

S40 is not my favourite friend but I must try to laborate with it some more. S17 is very easy to work with.

There is no way that what is in my W6 wax bottle is wax. If it is, it is the worst LS product in history.
