So What Shampoo Do You Folks Wash With ?

When I started taking better care of my vehicle(s), I started using Griot's products. I have dropped most of them since, but one of the Griot's products that I still use is their car wash.

I like it for all the reasons that everyone else likes it. It washes nice and slippery, and yet it is not harmful to LSPs.

Chemical Guys new citrus car wash is the shiznit :D

+1

I was truely the most suds that I have ever seen and sooo slippery too (I also have Pinnacle, and DG which both are really good too). I use to use Megs GC, great for the price, but CG is really cheep to and preforms the best imo (plus a stronger dilution is great for old wax removal).

If and when I use the traditional method of suds and bucket I always reach now for the Optimum car shampoo, even over my trusty and reliable TOL Bubble Bath. Since it was tweaked the Optimum is more lubricating and if you love suds for days.....well it's got em.

My next choice would be of course the Bubble Bath

I found the meg's soaps to be a little too harsh...they were stripping off my lsp's unless I used so little they provided no worthwhile slickness/sudsing.

Wow - that has not been my experience with Meg's GC at all.

I use the recommended dilution rate of 1 ounce per gallon and it doesn't strip off my KSG and it always provides excellent lubrication. I use it once every week to week and 1/2 as well.

Pinnacle's bodywork shampoo is super suddys. Definetly much better than Meg's gold class. Don't get me wrong, Meg's is a great shampoo but the difference between the two is huge.

Chemical Guys Extreme Wash "n" Wax!!

Smells great, lots of suds, cleans great and leaves the car looking really good, thats important to me with limited time as the evenings draw in and even QD'ing can be difficult when it gets dark so quick.

In fact it leaves the car with a "just QD'd" look.

But...how about the price ;)

Yeah, I'd say the Pinnacle is vastly superior to GC too, but it was just too harsh on my LSPs :( I used it on my good cars for years before switching to Griot's so it's not like I mean that as a slam.

I was always shocked at how the Pinnacle seemed to pretty much strip my Souveran, and I wasn't using a harsh dilution ratio either :nixweiss Great lubricity though, I could always tell a difference between it and the #62 I used on the beaters (and #62 is, IMO, better than GC). If the Pinnacle were milder on my LSPs I might never have switched to the Griot's, but yeah, that Pinnacle stuff isn't cheap, even in the larger jugs- makes even Griot's look affordable.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but I got some GC just because so many people like it...and I was pretty disappointed. Mediocre lubricity at best and harsher on my LSPs than Griot's. Might be the best commonly available, affordable OTC wash, but it's not the right one for me. I *do* recommend it to my non-Autopian friends though; at least it's better than the really cheap stuff.

Milestones - I'm glad it's working well for ya. It sounds like Accumulator has had similar experiences, maybe it's somethin in the Ohio water ;) Having tried megs crystal and gc wash, poorboys slick/suds, and some of the other otc's, I tried the griot's wash solution based on the recommendations of a few folks here. No comparison IMO.

The coconut smell is a nice bonus, reminds me of girls on the beach in FL..and tries to convince me to forget I moved from Sarasota to Cleveland... :hairpull :chuckle:
