Well im going to ordering some ONR for my car from PakShak later on today, and i have several of their WW drying towels and one of their MF towels. Which MF towel from there would be good for using ONR? They have several to choose from, so im not sure which one to get. Theres "ultra-smooth", "ultra-plush", ect.

Will the edges on their towels scratch? I see they have an edgeless MF towel, how are those? Is there any company that would be better to order from as far as MF towels are concerned for using ONR? Also, how many would i need for washing a LS1 Trans Am convertible? And how many WW towels for drying and wiping it off?

i heard that a MF towel was better b/c when you fold it twice there are 8 clean sides to use as opposed to 2 by using a mitt. :nixweiss

I've always used a sheepskin washmitt when using products like ONR, or QEW. Always use a two bucket method as well.

One bucket with the concentrate, the other with water. Just wash my mitts off after every panel. Seems to work well.

I too agree with Patrick. I always recommend and personally use genuine sheepskin wash mitts. Viking's 100% chenille wash mitts or DF 100% alpine fiber wash mitts work great as well.

Add another one who aggrees with a wash mit. I just didn't like ONR or QEW with an MF towel. Sheepskin mit or cotton chenille pad works great and I always use at least two and have never had a problem. I've tried a grout sponge with success as well but still prefer the above.

After trying various washing tools (MF cloths, MF sponges, MF mitts, Deep pile Chenille mitts, etc.) - I have also found that a genuine sheepskin mitt works best.

I have used the sheepskin (Target?), MF towel, Sea Sponge and grout sponge with ONR.

The advantage of having a clean side when folding the the MF towel is a big advantage.

Two towels and you can do the whole car.

Even using the Rinse bucket using the others doesn't really get the sponge or mitt "1st pass" clean.

I think the best strategy after a few months of use is the following:

1-spray down the car with ONR to loosen the dirt (I use pesticide sprayer)

2-let it soak in for a few minutes

3-Use a MF towel for the first passes on paint.

4-Use cheap grout sponges(6 pack for $3 at Home Despot) for the dirtier lower portions.

5-Use two buckets with ONR in both. ONR encapsulates dirt in the rinse bucket and dirt sinks to the bottom leaving clean rinse water on top. I use a smaller bucket for the rinse water.

6-Chase with a damp waffle weave and a diluted cleaning quick detailer like FK 146 or Poorboys S W. There are others that work just as well.

I reuse the the remaining water in teh buckets and sprayer to clean the wheels and tires.

The pesticide sprayer also works well at rinsing out the wheel wells.
