So I Ordered a New Car today (Pics)

Hey VEGA- remember when you asked for Ideas? Well..............................

I think that anytime a member with more than 2,000 posts get a new vehicle, they should get a shopping spree as long as they do a write up within 3 weeks of getting the delivery from Autopia.

Effective Yesterday BTW.

Let me know fast please.

2nd that

I went nuts on the Subaru, did wheels, paint, door jambs, under hood painted areas, exhaust tip, can, grill slats and I plan on doing the same here. If it has a surface "I CAN (AND WILL) COAT IT"

This thing has too much paint not to do it the really right way the first time.

I aked it to me not washed, and they said its filthy. I said-Its kool, its a Jeep leave it dirty. I then asked her to write "Do not wash" she thought I was kidding.

Well, I went by the dealer lunch time, to make sure she is all ready to rock, and guess what-it was washed and the tire dressing is glossy as the lipstick on a cheap whore. Will be bringing some trashed MF towels to avoid sling home.

Needed to speak to Service Manager, He said we had to wash it to put the decal on the hood. We now have an understanding (read-he knows I am a maniac) and it will never be washed again.

Its hard breaking in car dealers. Exhausting in fact. Autpoia Should have a pad of do not wash papers. And the reasons why.

Id buy that

JSFM35X- Hey, I'm late to this party, but congrats from me too!

Yeah, really like it in white, good choice. I've used OC v2.0 on suspension bits with good results, and I'd be all about getting Autopian on that undercarriage :D Just look at all the cool stuff under there!

Is it swirled up? My dealer was/is very accommodating, they left the plastic on the car.

I know I am not you, but I would have walked from the car if they did that. Also, if you think that they now "get it", my opinion is that they don't. In any case, lets hope not much damage was done.

I got the surprise deluxe swirl and hologram detail when we bought my wife's new car. I had never bought a new car before so I didn't know they do that while you are going over the deal. Next time I will know the second we go inside to discuss to tell them to leave it the way it is.

Well the plastic was off when I saw it in the lot. Always go to check the mileage and check for lot damage before they run my deposit.

I was actually quite upset about the wash as I made it crystal clear. I was offered my deposit back and declined simply because I got a super deal, and I want the car. I will be able to polish out any micro-marring and if I see that its trashed tonight when whip out the brinkman, I will deal with it then. I find the dealers glaze the crap out of the cars anyway. They cant don't correct much thankfully.

I was happy they did not slop up the trim with wax at least, that a PITA to get off even more than swirls. Plus once my 16 year old gets his hooks into this thing I am sure it will be a muddy mess in no time.

I did and I did but next time I will leave a sign in it.

I know some people don't like it but come on man haha

I'm with you. It grows on me more and more and the features are insane. Hater's gonna hate

As long as it's not the designer of the Murano Cabriolet it's fine by me.

I guess I feel that way because, I own a 09 Jeep SRT8… I cringe every time I see a TrailHawk like the way Prius owners cringe when I down shift next to them ;)

Congrats on the new ride!

JSFM35X- Too bad about the wash/etc. but I do understand your just taking it under the circumstances. (Heh heh, long-timers here may recall that I *have* refused delivery over such stuff, but eh, I'm extreme and was buying for myself, not as a family vehicle).

I dunno about that hood decal...but I'm guessing your son has some input here and I'm all in favor of having it be something he'll really like.

Thanks. It's a purpose bought vehicle for the family as I have a young driver.

I've sucked the headlights out of many a srt8. Jeeps and other models so there is always someone faster.

Can't be to rich, to fast or to happy.

Enjoy your jeep and I'll enjoy mine.

Leave those Prius owners alone. Pick on someone your own horse power.

PS sorry, I'm a little competitive. Can't help it.

Yes, I was upset. No I could not bring myself to refuse it. Many factors and I got a great deal that I could not replicate for sure anywhere. I also risked serious mental anguish from my 16 year old who already didn't sleep the night before pick up.

The cAr wasn't totally prepped. Now looks like the rinsed it and washed good to apply the decal. Glass was dirty (cleaned that yesterday). Sticker was left on window, tires were dresses with greasy crap but after wiping off, the wax pencil writing it still there. Jambs are dusty and if it was prepped it's the worlds worst job. I am hoping it was not. I can clean it up and the detail nmd coating I am planning will get her off to a good start. For the time being. We are excited about having a new member parked on the driveway.

My son has not taken Such a. Interest in cleaning a vehicle before, It's funny.

JSFM35X- I commend you on keeping the proper perspective, especially regarding how your son factors in. Years from now, his memories of the Trailhawk won't involve any of this Autopian stuff.

Thanks, Its all good and all survivable stuff. Lucky for me, in the sun today it looks like wash induced marring (mostly on the hood) and I could not find any evidence that a buffer had been taken to the paint.

I think my son has cleaned the interior glass and read the manual cover to cover so far. He keep showing me how all the technology works.

He is a few weeks away from his birthday when his license comes active. Until then, he's my chauffer.
