So, I Found A Dog Today...........

Flash - be the shameless person you are and give him the card :Innocent:

Oh, you know me to well I see /:)

Demand a reward! :D

No. I can't do that ^#(^

Excellent work Flash! Wife and I have saved our fair shair of animals and you and I both know how we'd feel if we lost our baby's! Great job risking your neck to save the pup!! Business card is fine. The least he can do is take that graciously! I'm just glad you saved that dog!

One time we went outside after a storm and thought we saw a black bear in our pool. I was thinking, How am I going to get that out without getting mauled! It was in the 8FT deep end and holding onto the edge. Upon closer inspection it was a black poodle. Whew!

Cool story. I too have had my fare share with stray animals. The good thing about this one is it will have a happy ending. Unfortunately, there are thousands more dogs/cats on the streets of are great Country whose story will not end well :(

Hand him a card and tell him you are happy to have been of service!

Leave it at that.

Regards,
GEWB

This is what I'm going to do ^ :Snowman:

If its meant to be it will happen. If not, at least I know I saved a dogs life today and I will be able to rest easy tonight Sleep

BTW...I think Scooter has fleas. Me and Trouble are itching like crazy. I hope this dude hurrys up :!!

Ah, no good deed goes unpunished.:rofl::rofl:

Regards,
GEWB

Trouble and I are allergic to fleas :-B

Director So the very nice couple just picked up Scooter :hurray:

We chatted for about 10 minutes. I told them what I do, they (he) told me what he does (I already knew :spy: ) they were extremly happy to see Scooter. They also said both of there cars could definately use a good cleaning and would be getting in touch very soon (we will see)

Flash,
I am glad that you didn't get hurt. You are a hero. You saved the dog. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving the owner your business card. I am sure he will accept it and appreciate what you have done.
Great job!!:clap::clap:

You ain't kiddin Barry. That was some crazy stuff for sure. I knew if I didn't jump out into traffic, this dog wouldn't have had a snowballs chance making it across the street :Snowman:

here in ithaca we have one of the best ASPCA's in the U.S so we dont see alot of strays....But we have snaping turtles. My mother keeps a folded shovel and a towel in case.

But anyway. Thanks flash for your helping the the K-9 world! me being a huge animal activist i thank you so much for your good deed!

My wife found one of our dog's on the mean streets, I rescued the other. You are a hero in this case.

As far as the business card, the owner will ask (as suggested above), "Are you sure I can't reward you/Is there something I can do for you?"

Hand him your card and ask him if he knows anybody that needs your services to pass it along. You are not asking for money, you are asking for an opportunity to earn money, and by asking for a referral you are not hard selling him on obligation and he should respect that.

It's called a soft sell...give him your card! They might even say
"Is there anything I can do for you?". Say, yes, refer me business!

Is that anything like a softserve ice cream cone @-)

Anyhow, like I was saying. The couple arrived, I took Trouble and Scooter outside to greet them. They got out of there car and were extremly happy to see Scooter (I personally think Scooter would have prefered to stay here. Trouble is very cute =P~ ) I went over everything that had transpired earlier in the day, while they were thanking me profusely :notworthy:

At this point the man started to reach for his wallett and was telling me he wanted to give me something for my trouble. I cut him off at the pass and handed him my business card and told him instead of a reward, howabout you just call me next time you plan on getting your car detailed :wizard:

The man geniually seemed very intrested in my services and said he would be in touch soon. Just for good measure, I was pretty sure where they lived by the location of where I found Scooter. I asked if they lived in that area and they said they did. Well, I just so happen to already have 3 customers in there neighorhood, so I started dropping names. Turns out, the gentlemen knew all 3. I also told them that if they ever do any traveling and need somewhere safe to leave Scooter that he could stay here with us. At this point the lady asked if I was serious. I told her I was being as serious as an insurance adjuster :-B they both laughed at that one :cornut:

At that point, I said to them that I knew they have had a long day, and I was sure they were ready to get home. I thanked them, and told them that if I could ever be of service to them in the future it would be my pleasure :Innocent:

Where is Ithaca

We have loads of strays here. Matter of fact, there are a group of ppl who foster strays, then once a month or so a truck comes from New England to take them up North to eagerly awaiting new owners :partaaay:

I have seen those snapping turtles you speak of before. Man, those little dudes are loco :out:

Its really kinda strange Todd. I am already pretty content with the customers I have. Having said that, if the right oppurtunity presents itself, I will make room for more somehow :-?

I really didn't want to make the rescue/meeting the ppl all about me detailing there cars. I told them as I handed him my car, that I wasn't sure if this was the appropiate time to try to hustle business, but here is what I do. If I can help you, thats great. If not, it was a pleasure watching Scooter get bossed around by Trouble for a few hours. I felt the vibe that the man appreciated my hustleness being a business man himself :money:

day

Flash, what a day you had---phew---dashing out into traffic to save that little dog---I can't imagine it---glad you handed your business card to them, and I bet they'll call you before winter sets in and who knows---you may get many more referrals from them too. Congratulations on your thoughtfulness and words offered to them.. That lady really appreciated your offer when they travel taking care of their dog.. That's unheard of today too---people just are kind of leary sometimes and she may take you up on that.. But, regardless---they were impressed with your hospitality and friendly mannerism.. nice.. of you.. softoa.. it's that southern hospitality shining thru..

Great job Flash!!! Jack and I both applaud you! I am of the belief that the kind things we do in life inspire more of the same. Sometimes we will not see the rewards of our kind offerings but we often feel them. You are a good man Flash.
