So, how long before you buff off S100?

hello there,

I'm a big fan of S100 so far, and I now abou the easy on / easy off motto. HOWEVER...

i apply S100 to an area about 2ft x 2ft / 3ft x 3ft and buff off IMMEDIATELY. And I mean IMMEDIATELY!!! The product is on the car for about 10-20seconds before i buff it off.

is this too soon... too long or what?

Hope someone can help...

cheers

i ususally do a whole pannel first and when i'm done with it i wipe off. i guess that its ok to wipe off right after since s100 is hard to buff off when its hazed.

I find it's easiest to buff off just as it's beginning to haze, which takes darn near no time at all. Generally, I'll do about 1/2 a panel, then take a swipe at it. If it smears instead of buffing off, I stand back and wait another 10 or 15 seconds, and what was a smear has just barely started to flash to a haze. Wipe that with a fresh side of the towel, and yum: carnauba goodness.

On another note, I find I have better luck if I use a lot of fresh MF towels to buff S100 off . . . the wax really seems to load up the towel, so frequent flipping to a fresh side and grabbing a new towel when necessary seems to aid removal.

It makes a good difference what your weather is like too. It's usually ~90 degrees with ~15% humidity around here. The wax dries very fast. I'm usually doing a couple square feet and then waiting a few seconds, then wiping just as it's hazing.

Honestly, you have to adjust your buffing time with S100 according to your particular climate (temperature, humidity, etc.) based on your experience. I've used it when the climate varies from "kinda cold" to "pretty warm" and S100 seems fairly forgiving as long as you don't let it dry out (haze) too much before buffing.
