So does anyone else critique other cars around them while sitting in traffic?

Nobody around here even seems to wash their cars. I'm surprised if I even see a clean car, rarely ever see one that has been detailed.

I told the guys at work I just waxed my car and they all said it had been years since they last waxed a car.

That's bad, I do it too. I actually went as far as looking around some cars that a "Pro" did on my work a couple of days ago, and found out how bad they do things.

I thought I was the only one!!! My wife thinks I am a freak for pointing out some really nice paint jobs on cars.

I just got a new black car, so I am always on the lookout for good looking Black cars while on the highway or sitting in traffic, constantly comparing them to cars paint. I win most of the time for what it's worth!

I go another step...When I see a car that looks good, I wonder to myself "I wonder if that guy is on Autopia?"

:funnypost yes exactly! I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Actually, my question is: "did they do that themselves or maybe a detailer from Autopia?" :lol

LOL, same questions, Ashish and joshtpa :) There's this one house in our neighborhood where the owner has a BEAUTIFUL red Pontiac GTO. It's shiny and swirl-free (without getting so close that the owner thinks I'm a car thief :)) and everything is always so beautiful. I might have to approach the owner one day..

I liken my education about swirls to this....

Morpheus: You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

I took the red pill and now I see swirls everywhere, traffic lights, car shows, neighbors drive way and just plain walking down the street lol :lol

Stop by a local car show Friday evening and saw a lot of 60's Thur 70's cars and only one car had a perfect shine and swirl free, the rest needed a lot of work and a lot of attention in interior's and engine's bays. I would hate to saw a car in the condition most were in, don't know if the owners care or don't know how to clean up their car's? And I'm talking about some real muscle cars too that i think these folks spent alot of money on.

LMAO.....this is like Detailer's Anonymous :

Erm...Hello, I'm Kriminal from the UK...and, I ummm........I ummmm......how do I put it ?....<starting to get emotional>.....I study every car I pass and figure how I would get rid off the swirls and scratches.

I've even started to take my PC to bed with me, and threw the pillow out as I find MF towels softer to put my head on. <hanging head in shame>

<now everybody stands clapping to my confession>

:getdown

:funnypost

I do the same thing... I am always tempted to say something, but don't. When I see a nicely cared for car, I always comment to my wife. Of course, she thinks I'm crazy too. hehe
