So damn typical...

Nearly finished drying my car after a good meguiars GC wash, all ready for a nice QD spray on then into the garage overnight ready for the morning's events.

What happens half way through drying - damn wind picks up, nasty clouds come from no where and it starts raining  :doh

Now I am very annoyed at the weather forecasters :nono

So what can I do when the rain subsides? Is it safe to microfibre the car dry and then QD?

:nixweiss

Very annoyed, and wet:sosad

Ah the delights of the UK weather;) I would rewash when the rain goes away rather than QD. But it is winter so there is not alot that can be done, this is the time to get the interior spotless.

You guys have the Skyline GT-R and the Evolution VII and all your cool british/german/italian sports cars and your complaining?

Look at it this way... its a chance to adept your skills in shinyness and reflective ness :D

:p

Basically I just wanted to know whether I was ok drying the car with MF after the rain stops and then using a QD spray :nixweiss

Well, depending on where you live the rain drops can have small bits of dust-dirt in them or are chemically active (i.e. acid rain). I'd rinse off the car after the rain, pull it into someplace covered, and dry it there. A wash would be fine if a little overkill.

The safest bet is to wash it again. Rainwater generally contains a lot of dirt and debris. If you simply dry after the rain, you run the risk of grinding the dirt into your paint, even if you use a QD (the amount of dirt left behind by the rain may be too much for the QD to handle).

If it is any consolation, look at it this way- you can wash the car in 10-15 minutes; drying is the time-consuming part!

Thanks, thats what I thought :up

I've already got the hose out and I cant be bothered with another wash as I've just done it!

Hmmm, doesnt look like the rain is going to stop anyway :(

Everyone talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.

I'd take a wet Subaru WRX STi prodrive style over the dryest north american watered-down WRX anyday.

P.S. What? no devil emoticon? Hmmm, must be an iclub thing.
