Snowy and salty pictures of your cars!!

I just washed mine today and forgot to take a before pic, but let me tell you it was covered in salt and snow grimes. this part of the year is really bad for us in this part of the northeast. i think it would be fun to see some of the pics of our cars that are usually gleaming to be all covered with snow and salt.

post your pics. btw, snow will be here again tomorrow so i'll make sure to post a pic of mine tomorrow.

ps- gsrstylz- would love to see a pic of what ur car looks like in this time of the year.....

Yup, 4 to 6 inches scheduled for tomorrow. About gazillion more tons of salt will end up on the road (and the cars)

I take my mom's car most of the time when it snows, so mine doesn't get salt-covered very often.

Here's what her car looks like in winter:

In return for letting me drive it when the roads are crappy, I detail it for her when the weather warms up (for a few days or in springtime).

Last month it got pretty warm for a couple days, so I shined it up a bit. :)

Yeah, were supposed to get 3-5 during the day today, anotherf 4-7 tonight, and then 3-5 more tomorrow during the day, all with 20-30 mph winds. Gonna be a fun one :)

Very far from perfect.

btw, come spring you will see some real before and after i will be doing to the car, just picked it up a month ago and have not had good enough weather to give it the detail it deserves....

enjoy

Ah, the beautiful Spring and Summer. Funny, by July, I'm cursing the summer sweat and begging for some cool down. Then I end up miserable like right now. It's all just a cycle.

But I love it when I can turn my minivan into a tornado with all 7 giant windows rolled down (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Moonroof) during a 65oF evening. That's when I enjoy it the most.

bah. sucks living in the north east. i see people everyday with white or silvers cars that still havent washed there cars yet aftre the first blizzard back in december. their cars literrally turned grey-ish brown from all that build up, then in spring they run it through an carwash and come out with giant swirls still dripping in salty water from reused car wash water. yuck.

Wish I had my camera today. After a 50 mile commute to Philly my CTS is looking UGLY. Hello coin-op & sprayer this evening!

The white cars are the worst, you can see dirt brown caked up along the sides and the back almost like racing stripes. And on a nice sunny day, they look like a Hostess Cupcake on wheels.

With the amount of salt/grit they use in MA, it doesn't take much for a white/silver car to look bad. I washed mine two weeks ago, and it's not good from the last storm (not today's).

I'll try posting a pic soon.

Here's a camera-phone shot, and this is real bad for me. Can't wait to put the summer tires on

it's times like these that make you really appreciate having a "winter" car. I would have lost my sanity long ago without it... :)

I understand that way of thinking. I did the winter car thing for the last 5 years (in fact still have the car) but the truth is it caused an insanity of its own. I buy my cars to drive and enjoy. The detailing to me is just an extension of this enjoyment. The problem is I can not afford two nice cars there fore my winter car was a beater. It eventually got depressing and I got no enjoyment out of the seeing my fun car just sitting in the garage clean. This past summer I got a car that I could enjoy year round. I bought an extra set of rims and put dedicated winter tires and have never looked back. The winter driving has been fantastic with the down side of a much dirty car. The spring detail is going to require some work.
