gave it a wash today at the coin op. used the pre soak, soap and rinse. noticed in the sunlight it still looked it had a dirty film on it or something. oh well screw it, so i dryed it off anyway. forgot to check the ww's for dirt but i dont think there was any. anyone know what im talking about? so i dryed it off with the ww's anyway since im gonna polish it up next summer regardless. sadly this is the best its gonna look for the next ...while



gotta love the frozen ice on the wall (i was unable to read the "no drying in bay" sign ;)

Looks good! I live in So Cal and it was in the 60s today. Sadly, Im moving to boston in about a month to go to college...not looking forward to that! ack!
 
Looking good. So do you hate driving that thing around in winter as much as I think I would? I've seen more than one fbody stuck in a snowdrift over the years :o

Did mine today in the heated garage as I wanted to try my new foamer out. I didn't do a pre-soak which I should've. Mitt was picking way to much salty dirt from the lowers than I like to see I did check the WW's while drying and they seemed clean enough.



I think I know what you mean about the film left over, sort of like when you take a car to the touch-less. If you weren't use a QD when drying.
 
That is an annoying snow or salt residue that sticks onto (usually the lower contoour or rocker panels) of your car when its been out in the snow. You will need to go over it again with a car wash solution and a good wash cloth. It will come off, but it can be an annoying residue that won't come off with just a glance. A good quick detailer will also take care of any remaining residue after you've washed it.
 
I always have that nasty film left in the winter. It's dried in dirt combined with roadsalt. Usually it gets of with the pre soak, but it's harsh on the LSP. I have a car wash(Finnish made)that takes care of the film and it has some wax in it too, leaves the paint very clean and smooth. Normal Car Washes can't really remove the film from my experience.

In relation to the other "natural disasters" that occur around the country, our earthquakes are rather small in their destruction. They happen rather quick, are over and usually with minimal damage and most time unnoticed. No sleeting, blizzards or snow. I'll take the higher cost of living and the occasional quake any day.:)
 
glad im not the only one with the problem then. i guess i could try taking a bucket and some of my GC soap to the carwash. too cold to get out hoses or anything to do it at home. so if im wiping off that little layer when drying is that going to swirl it up pretty bad?
