i was pointed out to this site and thought id share:

http://www.clubsi.com/waxon.shtml

i found it pretty accurate and i aggreed with about 90% of the stuff this guy said. i think its a great place to start for newbies. lots of info and very trite:up

what do you guys think?

this site was also found as a link on the bottom of that page. i like this site to, seemed pretty good when i glanced over some parts of it: http://www.web-cars.com/detail/

Yeah, that is what I like about you, a great sense of humor!

I have read the posts that are there, carefully, and "yeah" what a knowledgable group of vehicle owners.

Excuse me now, while I fall out of my chair, with arms on it, to floor, laughing my butt off.

What a bunch of dweebs!

LOL

I agree with Ron. I read one post where a guy said don't get a cheap cover, then he said he splurged and got a one size fits all cover from PepBoys. Urgg, I think any cover that comes from PepBoys falls under the category of a "cheap cover", especially if it's a "one size fits all"

hehe sorry but i was actually serious here. what posts are you guys talking about? i was just referring to what the first link said. it was a basic summary about how to wash and maintain your car basically with differnt products. to me it didnt seem <em class='bbc'>that[/i] inaccurate to our autopian ideas...

and as for the second link, well i just read about the scratch removing part and some of the wax and washing part. to me it seemed like the info was pretty accurate too.

sorry to come off in such a big misunderstandning here:D but my post was not ment to be sarcastic:(

Ng Luder...I had the same reaction as Ketch...that it sounded waaay too amateur-ish. Doesn't seem like they know anything really out of the ordinary. All the stuff that was posted on there are things that most of us here know offhand. The info there will suffice the beginner detailer, but nothing of interest to the O.C.D. freaks that we have here.

i agree, thats why i said its a great place to start for newbies. i just never saw a simple page like this one with so much correct info on it that u can nod your head in agreement to. if you go in the shoes of normal people who arent as crazy about auto detailing as us, that page can teach a person alot of good pointers to start with.

Preluder, you're right in that it provides some basic info to someone who is new to detailing. But I have a serious problem with statements like, "The cool brand is Mothers" (sorry forrest!) or "you can count on getting more if you spend more" or stating that claybars are like rubbing compounds.

hehe yea, thats why i said i agree with about 90% of it. another was that rubbing compound WILL remove your paint...

M&M's are great every now and then when at work. But they taste so much better if I pour them on a plate and sort the like colors before eating. Uhh Ohhh, I see a dark theater and lots of bottles in my future....

lately, it's been this... :D
