SMR without fillers...

87 Monte SS

Death to white cars!
Hello all:

In the never ending quest to CORRECT paint anomalies (swirls, hairline scratches, etc.) rather than hide them, I am still confused about which of the many compounds marketed as SMR's have fillers. I know for a fact that the Menzerna polishes do NOT contain any fillers. They are simply fantastic!

Are there any others that are known to be filler-free (Megs #9? 3M-FI-II? etc...)? I would like to experiment with different ones, but at the same time I would like to be comparing apples to apples without having to wash down with 50/50 solution every 5 minutes to compare the results.

Thanks alot!

You may want to try Hit-Temps "Light Cut" It is a mild solvent based paint cleaner and swirl mark remover.

It is a standard step in just about all of my detailing.

The Menzerna polish's are nice, but the intensive despite the name is not very agressive for swirls. The fnish is very nice the only problem I have is that it is hard to use and stains the trim. I have better luck with DACP and Swirl Free, but I am thinking of following this up with the Menzerna Final Polish and then UPP or S100.

Anthony: Excellent! I see that you keep recommending that one. I will try it, and thank you for the recommendation.

Thomas: I should try the DACP, but I was under the impression it too had fillers. If not, I should give it a try.

Any others guys? How about any from the 3M line?

Thanks.

3m pIII machine glaze says it has no fillers on the bottle but dwayne told me it did *shrug*. I dunno i can't tell i haven't used the product enough yet.
