I have tried everything in the book to get rid of smoke smell in cars.... if the people didnt smoke a whole lot in the car, its easy to get rid of,, but then there are the ones that they smoke a whole lot and can cover the smell for a bit but then it comes back.. i'v tried everything.. i have an ozone machine, I'v detailed the car scrubbbed the headliner with laquer thinner, put a fogger in it, then out the ozone in it,, was gone for a lil while, but came back a little later,, i have also tried a whole lot of different things that dont work..

Any suggestions??:nixweiss

I find it's about the same for a house, a new coat of paint and carpet is the only thing to truly get the smell out.... Which sucks!

new interior...

thing with smokers cars is that the smoke is in all the crevices and nooks all over the car, even the places you CANT reach without dismantling the car. At that point, its pretty much useless unless you replace the carpets, seats, dash, all leather/vinyl/cloth...see where I am going???

all you are going is masking the odor, kinda like filling swirls with a glaze...sure it looks good for a month, but then what...

I've heard of people using coffee to get rid of odors. The way I hear it is you fill something like a cookie sheet and let it sit for 24 hours. Never tried it myself, kinda want to just to try it, but I've heard of some pretty crazy non detailing chemicals working pretty good for some things.

I would have thought the ozone generator would have worked for that though, making me rethink buying one.

Why would you think that would work? and not cause problems.

First off, never promise 100% removal of smoke smell.

Find a good deodorizer, ( deodorizers work in many different ways, which i am not going into detail about) i am trying Ban-o at the moment, also Odorcide is another, props to Jake for that one.

Spray and wipe all plastic with APC cleaner and then again with deodorizer or mix them depending if they are compatible.

Spray all fabric and extract. Then respray fabric with deodorizer again. This includes especially the headliner, reduce suction if possible. Wear proper eyewear, mask and gloves.

Spray an aerosol deodorizer down the vents.

Let car dry and then hit it with the ozone for a good amount, depending on your machine. Then ozone with the air circulation on.

Mist fabric lightly again.

It is not an easy process and should be priced accordingly.

A smokers car will always be - a smokers car.

For people who are sensitive to cigarette smoke, such as myself, there is nothing that can be done to rid it of the smell. There will always be that hint of "stank" IMO.

most cars have a cabin filter if you have cleaned all panels headliner etc then change out the cabin filter it should take care of it i usually use a car bomb to neutralize odor also

apc all non porous surfaces, extract all pourous surfaces, odor bomb, and odor bomb for the vents, throw in the ozone generator and pray that would be my ultimate attempt.

if that fails try soaking the seats and carpets with 93 octane gasoline. roll up all but the drivers side window. go to walmart and pick up a flare gun and fire it in through the open window from a safe distance lol

The ozone machines work pretty good, but as everything else that I TRIED i wares off after a little while....i have tried coffie, no luck, charcoal, no luck,, probably one of the best things that i have done is putting drier sheets in the car under the seats and such, and setting off an odor bomb,, that is what seems to last longest.. but still goes away after a lil bit.. an ozone machine is not worth the investment in my opinion.. thanks for the feedback
