Ok I have a Polar Silver Mettalic (Silver with a light tough of gold) Porsche and I am trying to figure out what the best quick detail spray for it would be? I am looking for maximum shine for a car show I will be attending next month. The car will not have a coat of wax on it yet for the show because it is just now coming out of the bodyshop with it's fresh paint.

So basically the car will be washed well with Pinnacle shampoo then the QD psray will be applied for the show.

Which one would you guys recommend for this? Crystal Mist or Clear Pearl?

Also it will be applied with a miracle towel.

Thanks,

Dustin

I have used both products on a silver metallic Audi. I prefer the Clear Pearl for a "quick" detail since, imo, it is easier to use (buffs off much easier). Having said that I would recommend the Crystal Mist since you are looking for <strong class='bbc'>maximum[/b] shine. It is a bit more difficult to buff off, again imo, but gives better results, especially over Souveran.

I also have both and use them on a silver Audi and Porsche. They are both so close you probably won't see much difference. I love them both.

To give yourself a little extra edge in the car show, go over your Porsche with 3M's Omega Glaze. This will give lots of extra pop, but still allow your paint to breathe.

I think its One Grand Omega Glaze and 3M Imperial Hand Glaze.

I have used Clear Pearl and it is great. Never tried Crystal Mist yet, way to expensive.

I have both products but use them infrequently. But if I had a freshly painted car, I'd certainly use one of the two. They're both loaded with oils.

Beau, little mistakes like that happen when you're not on this forum for stretches of months! In my first post I didn't want to dismiss Show Off in any way. I'm actually a big fan of that product. It's just that a few people seem to have problems with that particular quick detailer. Laters.

Clear Pearl is an outstanding product! Just ordered a gallon from CMA today. This particular car is not washed on a regular basis. The Clear Pearl is used to maintain the finish between those infrequent washings. Great Stuff!!:bounce

I love the Clear Pearl. Buy it by the gallon. I use it even over the Klasse with no wax topping.

Hey Andy, I'm not sure if you've read some of my other posts or not. I also use Clear Pearl over my Klasse. Looks very nice in my opinion.

I haven't used a carnauba topper since April of this year. It just gets way too hot here. The temperatures reach up to 107 degrees. Even at night its somewhere around 80 or 82 degrees. I'd probably sweat all over the car.

I have, Don!

I agree, CP is great over just Klasse. and I just make sure I wassh or don't use it to QD immediately before another layer of KSG, and so far no problems. I don't think the little bit of wax can hurt much as far as bonding.

Good point. The wax would probably melt off after a trip around the block anyway. I don't think I'd use it either if I were you.:p

As usual, I tend to agree with your logic. Now if only you had a young and attractive younger sister who was a car care nut like you! Now, that would be magic. Hehe!
