I posted in the off-the-beaten-path section last week about a car I did in 106 degree heat.... Well, here's some pics. They were taken by the VERY happy owner and he sent them to me. They aren't great resolution, but it should be ok.
Here's my steps:
Dawn wash, Megs paint cleaner, Rightlook polish (just leftover, not my first choice), UPP, Plexus on plastic, wheel wax, EF Black Opal on tires, cheepo dressing on wheelwells.
Extracted carpets, Lexol-Leather Cleaner, Conditioner, AP Cleaner, Lexol Vinylex, all the cracks and crevices.
I called this a mini detail and did it for $100, the car is small, silver and I cut down some steps and used some leftover supplies. Oh yah - 4 hours work time.

The pics I can s ee don't do justice to what that car really looked like. I'm glad that you showed the process's I hate to say I cut a corner or two. Sometimes its the only way to meet the price they are willing to pay.

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to clarify: I reduced some steps to get the price down, the customer knew about what I cut and that's how we struck the deal. It was a fair price really - the car was in good condition, I didn't have to fuss much with it.
Oh yah, I did a 1 step wax on the door jams.

Odd that a guy who buys an SLK doesn't want the car detailed to perfection, at least the first time. I guess the $200 would have broke the bank. Sometimes wealthy people are the cheapest. For your obvious knowledge and expert skill, you should be getting more than $25/hr. I took my car to a PDR guy once with a bad fender ding and he did an absolutely perfect job in about 10 minutes tops. $150. I asked him why it was so expensive and he said "because i've perfected my craft". I knew what the job was going to cost beforehand, but I didn't realize it only took a few minutes. I guess I would have felt better if he kept the car overnight.

I hear ya on the pdr thing ace. I work with them a lot. We sublet a lot of ding jobs to a local company and in 15 min they are done and with an insane bill. But if you look at the alternative of filling sanding priming painting buffing etc it still saves you a good chunk of change and deafinatly time.
