Slick 1962 VW Bettle gets glossed!!!!

So some of you remember the other custom VW bug I did earlier this year. This one is his good friend and finally he decided to pull the trigger and have me do my thing to it!
Overall this VW was in nice shape but just needed that little bit extra to take it to the next level. This included cleaning up the interior, engine bay and storage compartments. Machine polishing the paint and applying IGL Kenzo for years of protection and gloss.
To start with I gave the car a quick waterless wash with N914 then clayed it with N914 mixed at waterless wash dilution. For correction my Adams swirl killer mini was the main tool along with the Rupes Ibrid (more on this later). My G21 also got a little use on a couple of the bigger areas. M205 on a microfiber cutting pad took care of most of the issues in the paint although some fast correcting cream was needed on certain spots. Then just a quick follow up with M205 again on a rupes yellow pad for the little added gloss.
My Ibrid unfortunately decided to start acting up again as some of you may have seen the thread I posted about it. Normally I wouldn`t have been as upset as I was but on these particular cars with there body lines that little tool is very handy for precision polishing and high quality work. Thankfully Jeff (JSFMX35) overnighted me his long neck to get the job done and I couldn`t be more grateful for his kind gesture. Just goes to show you the community we have here!!!
After polishing the paint was prep wiped and IGL Kenzo was applied. Wheels and chrome got some polishing with Mckees fast metal polish. Interior got a clean up with various Mckees products.

Nice piece of work!

Now at least I know my iBird works! LOL

I am glad you were able to get it done.

Finish looks great. Bet the client was thrilled

Have a great weekend.

Looks Sharp!

Lots of nooks and crannies on that Rag Top.

Had Bugs for 20 years.

Wife said "NO more. They`re not safe to take the kids to daycare in".
