The reviews were done by actual customers, however none of the simpler "ratings" were, to the best of my knowledge. The ratings are the stars at the top. I have 4-5 right now, I think. I guarantee that there will be another bad rating in the next few days, since one of my customers has done a review for me today.

Trust me, I have fantasized destroying that SOB many times. I am an ex-soldier with firearms who knows Jujitsu and Aikido, and I can put lead on target at over 300m with my SKS, or up to about 50m with my 9mm.



Unfortunately, the law would not be on my side if I were to do what I wish. Therefore, lawyers have to do the fighting for me... :rules:

I guess I'm still a little confused at to what this other detailer is doing to you. Care to be more specific?

You have to read all the reviews by the people who apparently reviewed san antonio mobile wash on local.yahoo.com for san antonio. After a while, you may realize who actually wrote them, then if you read what these people have reviewed about other companies, it only pertains to Martin's competition. I have yet to find a reason as to how I have so many disappointed customers who would rate my business as such. There are no bad 'reviews' but someone has been 'rating' my business with 1 of 5 stars. I just want that to be stopped and reversed. I have already contacted Yahoo, with no results or reply. Ditto for at least 2-3 other detailers in SA.



BTW- does anyone know how many plaintiffs it takes to form a class-action lawsuit? I can't remember whether it's about 10 or around 100.

You're not dumb, just a case of the devil being in the details here. The (4) next to the stars represents how many people have judged my services. The rating in the red for the stars represents the average rating of my biz by those who have participated in this particular survey. As you can see now, my real customers have given me 5-star ratings, while someone else (whom you cannot see) has gotten to this very link, and sabotaged my ratings. My goal is to extinguish such BS. The slander is more pertinent to other competition, however I do not believe any of my colleagues have the access to legal remedies that I have. Therefore, I am taking the intitiative before more bad ratings come my way, as well as the more honest men in which I compete.
 
Hey beachy I got a quick solution. How about a BUNCH of us Autopians go to that link and rate you at 5 to counter-act

Martin uses the best products to wash my car and I wouldn't let no one else touch my new Bentley and my wifes Rolls. You pay a more than a regular car wash but you get what pay for.

hahaha! that's exactly the post that got me started on this. I knew that couldn't be right!! And that's precisely what I was thinking when I read it.



It's kinda funny that he was the first guy I wanted to talk to when I decided to go pro. SOOOO glad I never talked to him!! He even had the gumption to brag about how he pulls some $130/ mo. from his vaccum, and is putting it in a college fund for his son!! Trust me, I have been thinking about a way to post that on his reviews without the threat of slander. Keep your eyes peeled, because that's gonna be my first action if I cannot settle this like a gentleman.



Sometimes you have to take the kid gloves off and get a little dirty to settle the score... :angry :angry :angry
 
I was called by a fellow detailer in town and good friend and he stated that Martin posted up a review on his own site that "slammed" me.



Here is the review -



Martin has been washing my wife's car about 3 years now and he does a great job. I was using a guy at the Medical Center longer than that. Today, Martin came to wash the wife's car and decided to get my Jag washed while he was there. He was done in half the time and double the quality!!! Plus he works on Sunday's.



Now I don't know how to tell the other mobile detailer I'm not going to use him any longer.





Now can I prove that Martin himself wrote this on his own site? Nope. Can I prove that the detailer in the "Medical Center" is me? Nope.



It sure is an odd coincidence though that after Martin challenged me to a "speed wash" of sorts (he claimed he and his wife could beat me and my helper washing a car. He using his pressure washer method and me using No Rinse) on the MobileWorks forum that this post comes up. Notice the mention of how Martin was "done in half the time and double the quality" line??



What Martin has against me I have no idea. I have done nothing but help the guy out when ever he called me. I answered questions he asked me about websites and even stuck up for him when he created a pseudo name for himself on Autopia as "SunCityDetail" or something like that. He created that account and came on defending himself after another Autopian made a negative remark about his website. He was then banned for that.



Martin still owes me $30 for a gallon of Optimum Wax from over a year ago.



Now "IF" Martin wrote that review to make me look bad then he is horribly ignorant because while I am the only detailer that I know of in the Medical Center, I care for only TWO Jags. One Jag belongs to a divorced doctor and I just washed it. The other Jag I just detailed and I hardly ever talk with him directly but rather his secretary. He has never asked me to work on Sundays nor has he ever wanted me to "hurry" through his car.



Has either of these Jag owners told me they no longer want to use me? Nope.



If Martin needs to create pseudo names so he can talk himself up big, has to create fake negative reviews about other detailers or create ones that glorify himself, then he has more issues to worry about than being threatened with slander.



Perhaps Martin is a really nice guy but as long as he constantly feels threatened by other detailers I'm afraid this will always go on. There are plenty of cars out there for us all.

I don't have to badmouth others to get business. Maybe the Wash Tub, but I am usually just agreeing with a disgruntled former client of theirs, trying to exemplify the value of my service over the low-priced hacks.



I get referrals from three different detailers in SA when they are busy (just started my biz in May), and I am really looking forward to returning the favor. I purchase supplies through a couple of fine gentlemen who are my competition in terms of marketing, if nothing else, but we all get along.



What's wrong with Martin? Dunno! Seems like pretty much everyone else in our community is out help one another, otherwise forums like this and mobileworks wouldn't have much content. I do anything to please my customers (other than lower my prices), and work hard for my money and reputation. It really frustrates me that some IDIOT goes on the internet every night and tries to sabotage my advertising efforts, so he can feel good about himself.



That is why I decided to go ahead and give myself, Spotless, Express, Dents and Deatiling and Ultimate Reflections a 5-star rating. I figure there are more of us to rate each other than there are Martins out there. Hate to do things that way, bc I feel like I'm lying or cheating, but what else can I do? Yahoo has had complaints over this issue and has done absolutely nothing! They haven't even acknowledged the complaints! You might see where this is heading...

"SunCityDetail". It all rings a bell now as I knew there was something familiar about this guy. Pretty sad when you have to make up names to praise yourself and then claim someone is slandering him by making negative posts. It seems like a little karma is in action here. Definitely creates the drama.

I don't think he's claiming slander. I think I'm the only one pursuing that at this point.
 
He's on a bunch of automotive forums. Have you contacted him in person or are you just bitching on forums?
