Skyline Detail

Mad iX

No detail for you!!!
First warning: Was night by the time we were "done", so please excuse the temporary lack of pics.

Wheels and tyres are brand new, but car was left in a lot for a while and neglected. Serious waterspotting on glass and paint, especially horizontal surfaces, but not apparent in the pics.

Process:

Wash

Clay

SSR1

AIO

WG

Wheels got AIO and SG.

Engine got AG Engine cleaner, and Megs GC trim detailer.

Afters:

(Edit: Removed after pics, cos I got some better ones and I'll post them up once they're edited.)

SSR1 didn't make a dent in the waterspots. If I get another chance, the next step will be IP with a cutting pad.

Too bad you don't have any better pictures. I know that you should at least start with SSR2.5 on paint older than a few months. Some people are careless enough to even need a cutting pad with the wear and tear they put on their cars. :(

Car isn't mine. If it was, I would've gone with SSR2.5 or IP from the beginning. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time today so I decided to just do a quickie with SSR1 because I don't know when I'll be able to go at this car again. Also, the owner isn't too familiar with the products and was nervous about me using any kind of abrasive as it was.

I would say the waterspots were definitely the dealer's fault, sat in the lot too long without any maintenance.

Here are the proper afters:

Came out a bit too bright, so the owner wants a deeper yellow finish next time.

what products do you think would deepen the colour?

I know NXT and EX do. Is that just a flat yellow, no metallic?

What is the paint like?

Very nice detail, bit of a change to see a skyline.
