Since this will be a long weekend for me....

I got to wash my car yesterday at the detail shop because it was a hair too cool for me to do it outside. One thing I did that was pretty nifty was clean my carpet with a steam extractor (To quote Will Smith in Indpendence Day, "I have got to get me one of these!.") .

I pre-treated my carpet with EF Spot Remover and then went over it with the steam cleaner. The carpet came out very nice and clean. I am going to go back so I can do the seats and headliner.

After cleaning the carpet and the rest of the interior, I washed the car with GC shampoo and cleaned my tires, wheels, and wheelwells with HI. Let's just say that having the SG on the rims made life easier. Then I made sure I cleaned the fuel filler door to get rid of the grunge in there.

I think I am going to have to invest in those big blue drying towels. I tried drying with the absorber again but I saw a lot of microbeading and I did not like that. I went and grabbed my old reliable chamois and dried the car off.

After drying, I applied Vinylex to the tires.

BTW, the interior vinyl was cleaned with diluted HI and treated with 303. Plus, I polished my door sills. :D
